Due to some comments in thread, I slightly modified general conditions:
- set cycle to 108sec, to better include CoD/CoA comparitions
- increased %crit before talents to 10%
- included 3 +hit%
- included raid damage buffs, 10% CoS/CoE and 15% mage/priest
- added "no CoA' scenarios in addition to "max DPS", "no heals" and "sustained", and removed use of CoA in all but "max DPS"
Also, I did following corrections in calculations:
[things that influence all builds]
- removed AE element from SoC, which made Corruption better choice overall
- added to calculations effect from raid buffs like CoS/CoE
- made improved SB math more accurate. It now depend on number of used SB and actual crit chance, and is not added if Incinerate/SP used
[things that influence demonology- generally increased DPS]
- added 30% to FelArmors 100 +dmg if demonology
- for max DPS in demonolgy used Succy instead of felguard
- changed +dmg from Demonic Knowledge from 140 to 165 to better reflect lvl 70 values
[things that influence affliction- generally decreased DPS]
- set 1.5sec global cooldown on DP
- slightly changed how Nightfall is calculated
[things that influence destruction- generally increased DPS]
-added Backlash effect for crits
-included SoulLeech for no-heal scenarios
I also changed first post to reflect this, but general rasult is that with all above changes, affliction DPS got noticeably lower (mainly due to DP cooldown effect), demonology DPS noticeably higher (mainly due to additional 5% from succy compared to FG), and destruction DPS slightly higher (due to Backlash and changed general conditions). That changed previous short conclusion to:
Affliction and demonology are close in DPS (affliction better in no-heals scenarios) , but destruction is still behind
Since affliction and demonology were so close, I included in addition to 3 full 41pts builds one mixed destro/afflic build suggested in posts - and it ended up with higher DPS than other 3 builds. This does not means some other mixed build could not do even better ;p
Here is how it looks now, for lvl 70 build:
Note that affliction and that mixed 21/40/0 build pull up for no heal and sustained damage mainly due to HP regen from Siphon Life.
Destruction, although closer now to other two builds than originally, is still more behind them in DPS than it would be expected.
I would still appreciate any suggestion that would point some error in calculations or general conditions that would close that gap ... alternative is that gap in DPS will be real.
I checked some of suggested general conditions changes that ppl expected would 'help' destruction:
- i introduced "no CoA' scenario, but that influenced similary all builds
- i checked DPS increase if i make player with more non-talent crit%. In above new calcs i put 10% non-talent (meaning base crit and items), instead of original 7%. I also checked how it change with 15% and result is opposite of what was expected - it does not close gap between destro and others, it increase it. Changing from 10 to 15% crit resulted in DPS increase on demomongy of 6%, and only in 4% for Destruction. Reason is that Destruction had more crit (due to talents), so increasing fixed amount (5%) crit wasmore benefit to those buulds without crit talents
- i rechecked DPS with incinerate instead of SB, but after I fixed how improved Sb effect is calculated, it even more confirmed that Sb still has better overall DPS even for destro
