Ok, my usual static 5 man is druid-tank, warlock, mage, priest, then a filler slot (fury war, warlock, spriest, etc). Having read the multitude of rogue whines I was somewhat sympathetic to them- all the dps classes are very competitive right now and a lot of the TBC 5mans afford a high degree of safety to ranged dps classes.

Last night I had the oppurtunity to run with a different group of folks. Warrior-tank, priest, rogue, rogue.

I was really impressed. Sap performed flawlessly as CC and we were never "in trouble" because of its duration or an early break. Incoming damage to the group was markedly lower than with my usual group set up, because of stuns, kicked spells, and the general control that 2 rogues brought to the group. Can they indefinitely CC a target at range like a mage or warlock? nope. However with sap, cloak of shadows, evasion, and all the other rogue tools- they did just fine.

In short: I wouldn't hesitate to group well-played rogues in lieu of a hunter/mage/warlock. They are all interchangable, allowing for player skill and the odd gimmick fight.
