As a CTF fan (I prefer Warsong over any other BG), I'd honestly just rather see more maps than anything else. If you've played any TF FPS, having only Warsong Gulch is like only playing 2fort for 2 years straight. Needs more variety.
But in the spirit of this thread, Blizz should just keep it simple and go with proven formats from past games:
1) Attack/Defend w/ seige weapons. 10 v 10, one team on offense, the other on defense, w/ the simple objective of killing an NPC commander within the keep, Should have multiple entranceways, one that can only be accessed by stealth classes, one underwater passage, and a main door that can be broken down with seige weapons. Once you kill the commander, the two teams switch sides. Time limit of 15 minutes for an offense to complete their objective, while defense gets honor points every minute they hold.
2) Push-style map. One ball in the middle of the map. Objective, take the ball and cap it in the enemy's base. If you die, you drop the ball and any one can pick it up. Ball resets in the middle once it's capped.
