A bit of hyberbole, but it's something that many tanks seem to lose track of. It's almost never steady heavy damage that kills a tank, but that big 1-2 hit (possibly followed by a 3rd which finished you off because healers couldn't recover in time). Damage streaks kill massively more often than being hit more often for less would have in numerious cases, which is one reason that druids are somewhat competative, and AC is often undervalued. The tank sees 'no hits' and assumes that that's always better, so gears for it.

However, I'm not going to look at your gear and say 'too much avoidance, not much other'. I don't know your healers, I don't have personal experince much past Kara, and I think that a blanket statement could be misleading at best, misinformative at worst.

Have you considered building a secondary set that focuses more on Stam/AC? I'm sure you're not looking forward to filling your bags with yet more gear, but there are quite a few fights where you might be able to produce more steady threat (I know you said you don't have rage issues generally, but I'm sure you occcasioanlly end up a little starved) and/or taking steady damage will be king for some reason.
