Its no worse than having certain specs be "arena cookie cutter," or rich smiths with BT guilds being able to make Deep Thunder and so on, saving them the point expenditure of getting one of the big arena weapons. If things were equally biased against all professions/craftables, that'd be a fair point, but as it is, certain things are left in the dust. As is, one of my professions is tailoring, and my netherweave nets are useless, leaving me with a couple patterns that were good for arena, but quickly obsoleted (with the veterans belt beating Unyielding Girdle, etc.)
There just needs to be some hard rules set in place, and honest following of the rules once set. If something is imbalanced in PVP to the point of being forbidden, it should be removed from the game entirely.
