I've found northern Netherstorm to be the best place to mine. Crusader aura + epic flying makes it cake, and if you're an engineer you can quite easily farm up to 4-5 primal mana an hour as well (just make sure you equip your goggles). The gasses can be hard to spot, but with SCT you just need to stop when you see a stream of +45 mana going above your head.

I've found though, that the most efficient way to make money is through dailies. Of course, due to their nature, you can't spend 8 hours a day doing them. This led me to try something different when levelling my shadow priest. Basically I finished Nagrand at 67 a few days ago, and I'm now grinding primal water below Halaa, with plans to do so until I hit 70, heading up to the wyvern roosts whenever PvP starts to save battle tokens. It'll take me an extra few days to hit 70, but really the cash flow is only slightly less than what I'd get doing the same thing at 70, and it means that I have all of BEM, Netherstorm, and SMV to do at 70. Each of these zones is worth at least 2000g, which will give me a huge cash influx (can generally knock each one out in a day) once I'm 70, for an easy epic flying mount and probably some Frozen Shadoweave.

The only other thing I can recommend, and it's not really a farming tip but at the end of the day it'll still give you more cash, is not farming stuff like copper / linen / briarthorn etc when levelling a crafting skill. I see this happen quite a lot (I myself levelled my pally as mining/skinning then picked up engineering at 70), and it's a horrible waste of time. If you have maxed mining and want to level smithing, or maxed skinning and want LW, etc etc don't farm low level stuff. Farm high level stuff, sell it, and buy the low level stuff off the AH for a FRACTION of the price (not to mention mining with an epic flying is a LOT faster than with epic ground mount). Not sure whether it'll help many people here, but I've seen enough guildies / friends do it that I feel it's worth mentioning.
