Pre-TBC i leveled skinning up to 300.
Then leveled to 70 with skinning to 375.
Found the best leather grinding spot above coilskar cave in SMV.
There you will find Oronok Torn-heart. He spawns five domesticated boars every minute or so. Just gather then up and AoE them to death. When you are nearly dead you will find that Oronok heals you for enough to stay alive through the wave.
Leather will do very well for selling just after the release. I am planning to do this for WotLK aswell.
Controlling Knothide leather prices on your server is cool. You can make the price as high as you want.
Highest sale i got for 1 stack of 20 knothide leather was about 50g.
You can get around 4-8 stacks an hour depends on how focused you are.
I wouldn't bother going there now tho. The boars there now drop far less knothide leather and more scraps.
I grinded my normal flyingmount + the epic one in 1 week.
