An extension of this is a "twink kit" armor set. Go to town on pretty much any low level gear that isn't soulbound. Some things aren't doable (e.g. TBC helm enchants, some higher level armor/weapon enchants), and some are annoying to obtain (e.g. pre-TBC libram enchants). Some of the items have better staying power, especially pants with runic spellthread or nethercleft armor, but those are also the most expensive items to create. Finally, you can also sell the kit for a reasonable amount if you decide that you don't want it.
