Esajin, your idea about a selectable raid timer is interesting. But I don't think it would work out well. Everyone, even casuals, want the best loot. I think they would like to have it reset more often rather than wait or find replacements for the organizational difficulty of a multi-week raid. Since iLevel is generally the same until the last boss, they would probably select doing the same first bosses more often.
Eulolia, I believe one of the reasons Kara is so popular besides what Galred said, is because the instance is that much more fun. Zul'Aman is higher level making it more inaccessible, but it is trolls, like ZG, again.
