Pretty much the same encounter from the other direction:
I'd been into Kara many times as prot pally offtank, but I believe this was my first go maintanking the place - it was certainly *one* of my first goes. We'd just got ourselves a new prot warrior who looked pretty good, but had no Kara experience, so I was going to take the lead and he'd follow. I'd say as a group we on about 40% Kara-level gear on average. I'd been lucky with hand-me-downs as offtank, so I was probably at the higher end there.
We got to Midnight, and I ran through an explanation of the fight; I was going to take Midnight, 'cause at the time I was convinced that disarming Attumen made a massive difference; the new warrior would grab Attumen when he appeared, bring him over to one side of the room, and just leave him offtanked; the standard process when you're starting to learn the fight. Just to be extra careful I'd go light on consecrations to allow maximum pickup opportunity; when Attumen was clear I'd go full-out for threat.
So we start the fight, I hold Midnight just fine, he summons Attumen... and Attumen stays on me. I ask the warrior to take Attumen... nothing. This goes on for... I'd estimate 20 seconds or so, and at that point threat's getting dangerous so I just have to go full blast.
I have no idea how I survived - I'm not even sure if I was uncrushable back then - but we did manage to down him; tanking both of them on one of my first goes as maintank. And as for the warrior?
Every so often you'll get a tank who kinda goes to pieces as soon as they discover a mob that they can't simply taunt...
