Really though, any druid or warrior tank worth his/her salt should be able to pick up two or three aboms and hold them against Consecration aggro. There's very little you can do to micromanage your threat on individual mobs in this situation, so your other tanks should be handling it.

Usually in Hyjal I don't bother with Avenger's shield, instead standing right behind a warrior or druid tank at the entrance to the camp and trying to time a Holy Wrath to hit as many of the mobs as possible. Throw up a Holy Shield, back toward where you start AoEing (Allowing your priests time to throw up their shackles), and then start in with the consecrates. Your warrior/druid tanks should be trying to pick the abominations off of you, and unless their threat is just amazingly terrible, they should be able to snag an Abomination off your holy wrath and a coupla holy shield procs in no time at all. Plus, the mobs are tauntable, so all they have to do is snag an abom and taunt it, then tank it. Also, the Aboms aren't particularly more dangerous than most things in their till they lay down the stun. So if you're getting eaten alive, try running the beginning of the pull with
[Free Action Potion]s, and using HoJ whenever it's off cooldown.
I don't use any special mob other than target of target, basically if you see a mob running away from the AoE group and not toward your kiting hunter, then taunt it, otherwise assume that your other tanks are grabbing the guys they should be, and be content everything is firmly in the AoE group.
