Isn't there some alliance quest item that deals 300 DPS to you if you're "unworthy?" I think you have to equip it, which might make it impractical for paladin regen, but you could use it to break gouges on Moroes or somesuch.

Great memory! But unfortunately it also drains mana, and so wouldn't really help.
Might be interesting for a Fury Warrior though...
