We're doing Lurker. Something goes wrong early on, and we lose six or seven DPS. Luckily the critical classes for add control in phase 2 all survive, so it's not a wipe, but it's going to take a while. I'm putting in one of the tightest MT healing performances I've ever done - the only time I've done better was our first Al'ar kill, where I topped the effective heal meter by more than 200k and had only 22% overheal. At 11m40 or thereabouts I go OOM with 25 seconds on potion CD; the tank's about to get stomped when Lurker dives. I swig a blue, Lurker returns, we carry on. I'm just coming off potion CD again when I run out of mana for a second time, so I Lay on Hands and use the pot. All the healers are now very nearly OOM, though, so when I finally run out for the third time around 16m40 there's not much we can do except pray for a good chain of dodges and parries. We wipe at 17m05 with Lurker at 22%. We rez up to try again, and I open my character window to re-oil my mace. At which point I notice that my Libram is pink.
Yes, this silly bastard had forgotten to re-equip
[Libram of Souls Redeemed] after doing his dailies, and as a result spent the entire fight with his healing gimped by a good 30%.
Nigel Tufnel once said that there's a fine line between stupid and clever. That night, I bestrode it like a colossus.
