I committed my egregious offense Tuesday night. We're in the middle of a recruitment drive as we had several players leave for RL, so our raid week was elongated due to adapting to new tanks/healers/dps. As a result, we were 6 attempts in on Illidan, and just having some random bonehead wipes (eye beam, pally flame tank forgot RF, parasites break out on the raid, etc.) So we engage the event, and as I normally do I step over to Illidan and pop Bloodrage so that I can put a Demo on him ASAP. It ended up being my quarterly reminder of the 1 threat tick from rage generation, and as I was closer than the MT, I got to happily eat the first attack. At least I got to go make a sandwich during my unintended break.
Earlier that night, more of a funny event occurred. People new to the IC fight are still getting their sea-legs, so to speak, as the rampant AoE was tearing a new one on us. We end up with 6 down around 2%, and I'm DWing my Swiftsteel Bludgeons and Executing while watching for Circle of Healing and Divine Wrath casts from the Priest. A paladin yells over vent, "Just die already!" and mere seconds later the council dies. And myself as well. I tunnel-visioned on my target's castbar, and was putting out high DPS on what's not the wisest of choices. A Blizzard hit me, and then I proceeded to Reflecting Shield myself to death. A most embarassing death, especially given the ribbing I had given a rogue the previous night for just that same mistake.
Ah well, at least I can claim some creativity in my idiocy.
