You don't have to 'trick' anything, it simply takes far longer to do the runs and wait for the instance reset timer than it does to collect the exp while logged in. There's no need to logout inside the instance since all the killing takes place at the entrance.
4 leechers at once would indeed be ideal; 3 people staying full time so you aren't stuck waiting for them, and your own alt hopping at on the right moments.
