It seems to me that certain classes could be ported to Outland at level 56-57 and just grind their way through the mobs for a couple levels. I'm working on my first serious alt (a level 53 Enhancement Shaman), and I know that I can easily handle mobs 2-3 levels higher than myself. Would going to Outland at 56 and grinding my way to 60 on the mobs outside Thrallmar be a viable idea?
57 maybe, 56 would probably annoy you too much. First the boars are just deadly and they will aggro on you from quite a ways. Buzzards are pretty much doable and maybe some of the orcs provided you can keep the runners down.

I would more than recommend just getting quests done in wpl or winterspring area. There is a great quest there, Words of the High Chief" or the like that will give you a trinket that will last well into Outlands and the quest XP will be more interesting than trying to grind out mobs.
