It seems to me that certain classes could be ported to Outland at level 56-57 and just grind their way through the mobs for a couple levels. I'm working on my first serious alt (a level 53 Enhancement Shaman), and I know that I can easily handle mobs 2-3 levels higher than myself. Would going to Outland at 56 and grinding my way to 60 on the mobs outside Thrallmar be a viable idea?

I went to outland at 56 on my feral druid, and had a lvl 70 priest friend follow me along to heal, not grouped. Just ground those imps and infernals for a little over 3 levels before I started doing the quests. I was fully rested at the time, having left that druid alone for a long time before coming back to this server. He never stopped to drink, because a renew and occasional flash heal was plenty to keep me alive. It was far faster than anything I would have done in Azeroth for those last couple levels. I wasn't twinked in the least either, I had almost no gold on the server at that time, just a couple blues and a bunch of greens from azeroth. Not sure how well it works for other classes, but for me, mangling the hell out of everything just seemed crazy fast...
