Deathfrost and its mechanics
(Didn't see any specific thread on Deathfrost, but as it's so recently added I felt it was worth collating info).
So... with the release of Midsummer comes this intriguing new enchant. My first thoughts are that it provides an awesome mid-priced weapon enchant for those who don't want to splash out hugely on mongoose/executioner but don't want something as cheap as fiery. Certainly I'll be stocking up on Shadow/Water primals for use on my WotLK levelling weapons. But... how good IS deathfrost, and exactly what does it stack with.
The proc seems to have a 20 second cooldown, and a high chance (heard it quoted as much as 50%). The question is whether a.) these values are correct and b.) if you have two weapons dual wielded with deathfrost on both, is the cooldown shared or separate.
150 Frost damage proc. Apparently this uses your Spell Crit rate to determine crit chance and modifiers (so a Chaotic Skyfire will make it crit more, as will spell/frost crit talents). Can it be resisted? Parried/dodged? Does it use your spell hit?
15% Haste Slow on melee/ranged/spells. This is the kicker. Clearly this makes it a good PvP enchant (depending on procrate), but what exactly does it stack with. I've heard some people say it stacks with Thunderclap/Thunderfury, others say it doesnt. Logic seems to imply that TC+Deathfrost would give 15% caster haste and 20% melee haste... but is there a chance that the 15% and 20% melee haste would stack. Apparently it works fine on raidbosses, so an alternative for small groups without a warrior, but its viability as a Warrior Tank enchant is very much dependant upon whether its slowing effect stacks in any way with thunderclap.
Alas I haven't tried it yet myself, I intend to but I don't have any spare weapons that I can afford to overwrite a mongoose/executioner with. So I'm hoping this thread can be the dumping ground for everyone's findings on the enchant.
