And this is really the key point. 4 players in a row getting "lucky" hits, errors, etc. gets you one run. It doesn't win or lose the game. It's all about how the team responds to those errors. When your fear gets resisted, you do something to respond to that, and can still win.
Hitting the seam of a fastball moving at 105MPH is a lot more difficult to predict than "oops, I pressed 4 instead of 3", and thus individual "skill" plays even less of a role than the ability to react to unpredictable outcomes in WoW esports than in Baseball or other "real" sports.
