Back to Basics
I have read alot here on the forums about being a warrior in arena, and much of it has been helpful. But after wading through page after page of debate over which spec is best (Mace/Sword/Axe), I still have not found a general guide to maximizing my DPS as an arena warrior.
I "grew up" as a Warrior Tank back in MC/BWL/etc. and have been a tank since day 1. I understand the warrior class and have tried about every spec available and with the advent of Arena, I have since rolled a second warrior to level 70 and dedicated that as my PvP toon (she is a draeni for the racial hit bonus). She has Stormherald and is working towards maximizing her gear and is mace specced with the standard 35/23/3 build.
Here is my problem. Most of the time I feel like I am rage starved in the arena. I keep MS up on my target, and spam hamstring frequently (both to try to proc the mace spec/Stormherald stun and to root them with the imp hamstring). The PvP gloves give a nice discount to hamstring so I feel that I can use it more frequently. However I find that when the time comes for me to take action either through Execute or Overpower or whatever that I am screwed cause I am always waiting for the autoattack to swing to give me more rage. I discovered (and I believe this to be correct, though I could be wrong) that Heroic Strike will generate no rage when it hits your target - so I took it out of my rotation. Bad move or smart move? I also read somewhere that someone uses Slam in their rotation. I tried this and found that it really didn't work for me.
I guess the bottom line I am looking for is what is your attack rotation when you are in arena? Any suggestions or advice will help a new Arena warrior a ton.
Thanks.
