As a player in Ruin since the launch of battlegroups, I can say I have never lost so many AVs than I have since crossrealms went live. If you even need to farm honor, Ruin Alliance has great luck in AV, not so much so in WSG/AB. EOTS tends to go 50-50 from what I've seen.
I obviously can't comment on the player base, but there's my two cents on BG wins.
