D-I-N. Was that so hard?

People who abbreviate "Paladin" as "pala" piss me right off. I don't even read people's posts if they do that. Seriously, it's just another three letters, and as a nifty added bonus you don't sound like a retard. And while you're at it, stop saying "imba" in lieu of "imbalanced", too.
Your grade school teachers should be embarrassed.

I think what's happened is they've used up all of their D-I-Ns making up other terrible words. it's like this:
"zomg I was fiting this retadin and he wasn't haeling me." "I need a tankadin to do thisinstance or we will all fail." "LOL haeladin" Palas are imba. |

tankadin, protadin, retadin, healadin: all awfully lame terms. Does any other class/spec have to put up with this sort of nonsense? All that comes to my mind are shadow Priests being referred to as 'spriests.' I've never heard of an arcage or a survunter before, for example. Does anyone have an example of a commonly used portmanteau word for other class/spec combinations?
Use of holy, prot or ret before Paladin is acceptable (protection and retribution are big scary words) but capitalize that P, son. Finally, your pally is someone you go bowling with and not to be confused with Paladins. |

Be thankful you're not being called a 'pally' - seems to be all over the official forums.
Smudgely: I've seen quite a few plenty of mouth breathers refer to protection warriors as 'tanks'. Oh, and the old favourite "shammy", while we're at it. Oooh, oooh! Almost forgot! 'Destrolock" and "Afflock". You'd think people were playing WoW from their mobile, given what they do to simple words, even with a full keyboard in front of them. |

The names people give Balance Druids are pretty terrible, too. Moonkin is acceptable. Boomkin is borderline dumb. Boomchicken makes my blood boil.

While chatting casually, I refer to elemental shamans as eles. And I personally despise the word restokin for dreamstate druids, why not go ahead and just call them gimp healers as that's all they are worth.

It makes me as mad as people who add "-adin" to any and every word.

Personally, Pally doesn't bother me even an ounce as much as Pala. It sounds weird when said out loud, and equally weird when read. Why don't we call Shaman's Shama's then? Or Moonkin's Moonks?
Because it's stupid. I understand the '-adin' suffix being added after 'Ret' ' Heal' 'Tank', it makes sense, albeit irritating. Just like SPriest makes sense, albeit also irritating. Granted, I was also really really irritated by the brief period that adding 'lol' in front of anything was considered cool. 'LoLRet' 'LoLHerald' 'LoL Coil' ... man, that always just bugged the hell outta me. |
