Fixing Survival Hunters

I'm sure everyone with half a brain (this excludes Blizzard) has noticed that the top 20 on TTR is littered with hunters, 17 out of the top 20 last I checked, clearly indicating that they're out of control. Here's some fixes that would bring them back into line, or hopefully start (of course they'll never be implemented so start leveling yours now). Some changes have been made in 3.1, but those aren't nearly enough to balance hunters, so these can be considered in addition to those.

Entrapment - Removed - Random roots are not more fucking interesting than random stuns.

Frost Trap - Snare reduced to 50% from 60%. Hunters have plenty of escape options now with disengage and the like, they don't need better snares also.

Aspect of the Monkey Glyph - Removed. Once again, hunters have escape options, they don't need a permanent movespeed buff.

Killshot - On the GCD...

We'll see how the 90s c/d wyvern sting works out but I still don't think hunters need 2 CC's both of which are below the cooldown of pvp trinket, which is what all long duration instant CC should be balanced against (consider the change of blind from 90s-2mins). Either Wyvern should go up to 2minutes or Scatter should be moved back into Marks at 21points or more.

Wait... what? A paladin complaining about other classes' performance in arena?

When I check SK gaming 2v2 rankings it's pally/DK that has the lead, BY FAR. The top 20 has 16 paladins (of which 9 are pally/DK) while only having 5 hunters. A look in the mirror would be nice before complaining tbh.

Now, to respond constructively:
- Entrapment: ok, remove improved hamstring, hamstring glyph, etc as well then and that's fine with most hunters I'd say.
- Frost trap is the only getaway besides disengage/melee-clip (aka ouch), and its still not as bad as crippling poison.
- AotM glyph: getting range will be harder when the explo stun is removed, even harder if you want your proposals to go through... be realistic. It's a proccing major glyph that is not much use when you got a snare on you anyway.
- Killshot on the GCD: fine, and that's already implemented on PTR.

I'm not a paladin, so you fail. In addition the entire fucking point is that hunters SHOULD have to use abilities like disengage to get away from melee, you shouldn't always have a CC or just flat out be able to walk away from them if you're both snared.

Ah, I was assuming this because of your previous blog. Indeed, I now see that you are a warrior. My bad, but this still doesn't take away the fact that there are probably other compo's to be looked at before considdering just the hunter.

Just a little thought though: what's the point of just having disengage if intercept has a shorter CD anyway? You nearly always want to combine it with something else to have use of it, besides 1/2 instants while flying backward.

Base disengage is the exact same cooldown as fury intercept with the 4pce PvP bonus, with the talent it's 4 seconds shorter, with talent+glyph it's 9 seconds shorter, or has a 1 second longer cooldown than arms intercept.

You're merely reinforcing my point, disengage shouldn't be used that you can spam more instants on someone it should be used to create distance.

The fact that you are even trying to defend hunters is outstanding. Personally my changes would be all the current changes, remove entrapment, make aimed shot marks 31 point and make trueshot aura baseline. This might be kind of harsh but I really don't think so considering how much a good hunter can control your team.

Looking at purely 2v2 representation for class balance is stupid. The actual top 100 list gives a much better picture.

Ah, I see you like the hatchet approach, vs the scalpel (© Obama). I'm not saying nothing needs to be done, but I've seen the "to the ground" approach at the end of level 60, which lasted all the way through S1/2 until Hunters got "saved" by the OP-ness of druids in 3/4.

Just nerfing everything at once is a bad idea, taking out explo stun, GCDing killshot, viper sting nerf and increasing wyvern CD by 50% isn't a good enough start for you? I'd say check the balance after this, and all other class changes, have been done.
