Retro Blog Post: The End of the Pants Empire

I was going though an older blog I have and stumbled upon this gem discussing my experience in Travian and why I got out; thought I'd re-share it here. Enjoy!

So my empire of three towns on Travian (server 5) was extremely short lived. Upon getting home last night I noticed that my third town of "Pantstastic" was gone. I saw that I had a message and one of my nearby neighbors had decided that I didn't need it...
Ah yes, a big base. A town that literally was created a few hours earlier and had a population of 6 at the most. This greatly annoyed me and as a result I concluded that it was not worth it since I was being kept around either as farm bait or because no one was paying attention. So I decided to go out on my own terms (see if you can find the sarcasm)...
So... yes. I have put my empire on self-destruct. I'm not particularly concerned if the guy gets my towns or not. If that was the case I would have sent back my response to him when there was only a few hours before the account deletion completed. Anyway, as for Travian goes I'm keeping my server 6 account for now and seeing if that goes anywhere more productive.
Epilogue: I did not keep that account on server 6 and have long since abandoned this game designed for people who like to shit in other people's Corn Flakes.

Additionally, I can understand your concern given that the entire population of my empire does not match your capital not to mention the rest of your empire which has over 7000 population. Given the enormous threat that my 6 population town posed to your empire I'm surprised you have not acted against my other towns. Especially given that all my towns are right next to each other.
Let's not forget that the alliance I am in is also a serious point of concern for you. I realize that the two people in it are VERY intimidating, but it should not concern you. We are very peace loving. It is certainly not in our interest to attack you who is in an alliance of several hundred.
Please spare me your patronization by implying I'm any potential threat to you. If you feel that I'm your way in doing whatever you want do, then please do me the favor and attack me in full force instead of toying with me. I'll spare you the effort though. If you like come get me now; you have 71 hours and 40 minutes to do it.
