Mana is an old idea which needs to be replaced. In this entry I'm going to examine its use in WoW and propose some alternate resource systems.


Why Mana?

The word "mana" usually refers to a player resource system where you have a constantly regenerating amount of resources to use to perform special abilities. In general, there's no upper bound on the amount of mana the player can have. It's supposed to represent your character's mental fortitude...
