Top ten epiphanies from AH raiding

There are times when light bulbs shine while trying to find better ways of doing things. Here are some of my 'oh yeah' moments when raiding the AH:
1. Most Players are Kara/Naxx25 pug players who logon for the weekend only.
2. DISenchanting will always make far more money than enchanting ever will.
3. Organization of AH alts is key.
4. Female AH alt names have a better chance to sell expensive items than other alternatives.
5. Most players won't buy the best enchant, but the second best due to 'cost'
6. Be very wary of anything costing more than 1k gold. Only 'hardcore' players can afford it.
7. People will spend stupid amounts of gold for holiday achievements.
8. Cross AHing for vanity items makes a ridiculous amount of money.
9. Never discount dailies.
10. Aim to beat 250g/hr when using professions / AHing / grinding / questing... it improves time managment.

With the vast number of single geeks playing WoW... consider the following:
A player has 1k gold and is pondering whether or not to purchase 'epic of big upgrade'. They want it, and have the gold, but it took them awhile to amass that fortune. Now, an alt 'Susan' is selling that item.... It's well documented and explained better than I ever could that females can sell better than males with all else being equal (Marketing literature). Having a feminine alt will decrease the number of times you have to repost. Having done this for awhile, you'll repost 25-50% less than with a MainBankAlt name. |
