On the order of 750 United States World of Warcraft guilds have completed all the available content. If we assume that each of those guilds has around 40 raiders, which is a slightly generous estimate, then about 30,000 people have seen Illidan die. (Up by 13,000 or so from January 25th, which is the last time I counted.)

There are over 2.5 million WoW players in the US. That makes that ratio of players to players who've completed the content roughly 83:1.

Once upon a time, I raided pretty casually. There was this Earthen Ring raid coalition named SASU, which was originally a single Molten Core raid, underwent the usual drama, and turned into a conglomeration of 300+ active raiders doing three or four Molten Core raids, a bunch of Z'G, a couple of AQ20 raids, and by the end two BWL raids. Also we killed Skeram. I ran with those guys -- Molten Core, Onyxia, AQ20, etc. It was casual. Our BWL raid had a mage with those blue +healing shoulders from Silithus...
