Sporeggar rep farming made easy

Posted 10/31/08 at 9:14 PM by Binkenstein
Do you want exalted Sporeggar? I did.

I was going to buy all the [Sanguine Hibiscus] I needed, but the AH was out. This did not deter me. I started doing the Naga kill quests, and even though I'm overgeared, it took a while.

However, I have an alt druid and thought "a 62-64 instance can't be that hard". I was right.
  1. Get a raid of offline people to max Protector of the Pack
  2. Get Glyph of Maul
  3. Spec for Berserk and use it whenever it is up
  4. Use Survival Instincts and Frenzied Regeneration together
  5. Don't swipe spam. Single target dps is all you need (Mangle/Maul/Lacerate)

Following the above, I was able to clear everything through to the first two naga pulls, stealth through and clear the Ray/Fly tunnel, and kill the last two giants. Each run would take 30-45 minutes, and net me 30-40 Hibiscus, as well as other drops/herbs (one of my druids professions just happens to be Herbalism).

At 750 per handin, you need 140 to make the grind from 0/21000 to 0/1000, which took me about half a day.

Warriors/Paladins should be able to replicate this easily, not so sure about other classes yet.

Offline people contribute to Protector of the Pack? seems like an oversight...

Nevermind the fact that they're removing the party basis for it sometime after WotLK hits.

A bit sorry for making a comment in such old post but I couldn't resist! I did the sporeggar grind myself at 70 and thought that it would take ages and cost me horrible amounts of gold for getting all of those Sanguine Hibiscuses.

Then it hit me that I maybe should try the other quests there where. I found that Fertile Spores - Quest - World of Warcraft is by far the best. Fertile spores is rather high droprate from Greater Sporebats. In TBC this was awesome since they are in high concentrations around the same areas as a lot of basilisks. Greater Sporebat - NPC - World of Warcraft. It took me as a spriest around 4 hours to get from revered to exalted back at 70 and at the same time grinding me enough spelldamage food to last me through the last part of TBC.

The spelldamage food isn't really of any use anymore other than levelling cooking but its an option to those who can not solo UB.
