The Blog Experiment: 3 Months of Google Analytics

Early February I started tracking my blog on Google Analytics. Prior to this I had no idea how many people actually read my blog, so it's been interesting to see the results.
Initial readership was low (40-50 visits per day), although a mini-spike occurred around March 10th with the Bloodlust & Execute Talents post, which has since been reproduced as a Theorycrafting Think Tank entry, Execute effects and the use of cooldowns.
Visitor numbers returned to normal after that, but the real change occurred when Patch 3.1 was released. My two blog posts around that time (Elemental: Patch 3.1 and Elemental Totems & Glyphs) resulted in a ~300% increase in visits, and I've been sitting around 100-150 visits per day since then. Even my recent "WoW break" hasn't really dented this much (around the end of April).
Here's a copy of the graph since the start of February, so you can see what I'm talking about.
So where to from here? Obviously there's that UI post that I keep pushing off (I really need to remember to take a decent screenshot during a boss fight), and the spreadsheet/alt entries as well, but I might take some suggestions as well. Although I will say no to gear listing type entries, as I don't hold to the idea of a single "best in slot" list, pre-raid gear lists and the like.

Not gear per say but stat weights, how to use them, how they can change relative to each other, and how to sim.

I guess hunters are just more likely to read blogs... I started averaging 10k uniques a week less than a month after my blog started.
Maybe start a series of posts about basic skills that many people getting started lack. I got much of my material from the simple questions thread in my class forum. |

Well in my opinion you have sir established yourself (willingly or unwillingly) as a paragon of knowledge to anyone that wishes to reach the potential of an Elemental Shaman.
I myself have to thank you, thanks to your very detailed work i was able to almost double my DPS an my recent changes from fixed rotation to priority rotation with the help of EventHorizon have permitted an extra 500 DPS. So as a fan of your detailed work thanks again. |
