The long overdue Part 3 of the T6 raiding review for elemental shaman.
  • Reliquary of Souls
This is an un-usual fight, due to the auras for each essence (or phase).
    • Phase 1 - Essence of Suffering
Straight forward DPS phase, no healing requirements at all
    • Phase 2 - Essence of Desire
DPS again, but with a twist. You take 50% of the damage you deal, which means that you will get a fair amount of pushback on this phase. However, this is a good thing as it reduces the

Talent Builds: The Good, The Bad, and The Just Plain Weird

Posted 30/04/08 at 4:09 AM by Binkenstein
Every so often, you run into someone that posts a spec that differs from the normal "cookie cutter" builds. Sometimes they work or bring new information to light, but more often than not they fail miserably.

This post is about those builds.

Firstly, while wandering the news site www.wowinsider.com to see if there's anything new and/or interesting, I came across the Build Shop. It was a 18/43/0 Enhance build. Since I'm at work at the moment, and slightly bored, I thought...

A Quick How-To

I've been getting a few questions from people, both on IRC and via PM's on improving Elemental dps.

Most of my observations have been around gearing. The new badge items from SSO are good (see an earlier blog entry), gemming for more haste is better than gearing for more damage (especially as you'll use the somewhat underused [Seaspray Emerald] instead of the ever popular [Shadowsong Amethyst].

Gem wise, yellow sockets should always be [Quick Lionseye], blue should be [Forceful Hand of Justice]...

So by now you should have access to Smith Hauthaa from Phase 3 of the Shattered Sun Offensive.
Of the items that she sells, there's three I'd like to mention. I even bought two of them.

[Scryer's Blade of Focus]
More damage than [The Maelstrom's Fury], but it lacks the crit. So if you haven't got a decent main hand weapon, this is an excellent choice.

[Aftershock Waistguard]
Throw a [Quick Lionseye] in, and you've got something that rates behind the new...

A Hasty Experiment

So, I've regemmed for haste. A grand total of 75 rating!
Combining this with Skycall, and 4pc T6, I'm going to see how I go in MH tonight.

Rage
Damage: 2nd (300317 vs BM hunter's 303399)
DPS: 2nd (1721 vs Destro Lock's 1749)
Notes: 4pc: 2x Mages, Lock, Rogue, MS War present. I had one IB, one D&D. Molten Fury OH dropped, War/Rogue/Me call offspec on it. I pass to the MT (hi Erlaya)

Anetheron
Damage: 7th (293k vs Rogue 1st 398k)...
