Things I like about raiding and a few I don't

First, the things I enjoy about raiding.
  1. I really enjoy learning new bosses and seeing new content. I know that's a profound concept (seriously, who doesn't like seeing new stuff).
  2. I like first kills and kills that very easily could have turned into a wipe if not for stellar play.
  3. I like that point when your raid group really starts to perform like a well oiled machine. That feeling of synergy is amazing and is probably the single largest reason why I continue to play. I played competitive

On casual guilds trying to raid

So, my guild is what is best referred to as a casual, social guild. It's the same guild I've been in since I started WoW and I have several friends in the guild. In other words, I'm not going anywhere. I do, however, want to raid. Back in the middle of TBC I decided to start pushing my guild into some raiding and we wound up halfway effective.

What I've tried to do is sort out who in my guild is willing to do their homework to support raiding and who isn't. In a guild like mine...
