Ten Things Blizzard Should Change About Rogues Before Mists

Posted 08/30/12 at 2:52 AM by Aldriana
I suspect I’m not alone in being somewhat disappointed with the updates rogues have received in Mists. From talking to other rogues and reading the discussion on various forums, the consensus seems to be that the planned rogue changes are, well, bland. Boring. Uninspired. And, in a number of cases, buggy.

And unfortunately, it’s mostly too late to do much about this. We’re simply too close to launch for them to make major changes. Its all well and good to point out that...

Keen Formation is not a top 10 world guild. Keen Formation has never gotten a World First kill, it has never been on mmo-champion or wowinsider nor does it have any famous members beyond a chronically confused shadow priest apt to horrible misspellings. Keen Formation is an unspecial guild on a special server where it finds itself right at home in that meaty spot between hardcore and casual (Seriously Casual?) However, Keen Formation does have one special quality that no guild is quite like: we...

Iteration: Making Great Games

Posted 03/15/09 at 3:57 PM by Zoid
There is a reason that only a few game companies consistently release amazing games. There are three main ingredients to making a great game: capital, talent, iteration.

Capital consists of the money and time to make the game. It always takes longer and costs more than you expect. This is an entire article in itself.

Talent is one of the most challenging factors to get right and complete. There is a finite number of talented people in the industry at any one time....

A Name is a Name is a Name

Posted 03/19/08 at 4:06 AM by DeeNogger
There are over 540 players with the name 'Backstab' or some sad variation of: Backstabb, Backstabx, Backstabu, Backstabyou... you get the picture, its really pathetic. 538 Rogues and 2 confused hunters and not half a brain between them all. A battle between all the rogues named 'Backstabb' and all the warlocks named 'Sauron' would be nearly as epic as the rumble between all the 'Beef' Taurens and the 'Legolas' Night Elves, two groups that have waged a smear campaign longer than Mages have been trying...

How you can become a Gladiator: Know your character.

Know your character.

I often play AV on my druid, because Blizzard’s ingenious design forces hybrid classes to grind out 3 times more honor than other classes. When I heal random people as they try to kill their opponents I often look at what they specifically attempt to do. I remember a case in AV where I was healing a warrior as he tried to kill a paladin while another warrior was beating on him. I whispered the warrior to apply Battle Shout. In response he told me that he was...
