Taking a backseat in a casual raid

While my main focus these days has been on my recently created horde character(s) on Mal'Ganis, I still occasionally play my alliance druid with some real life friends.

Now, when I had given up raiding on these characters, my guild was reasonably progressed given the server environment and time frame - most of the way through SSC, some progress in TK, etc. So, my druid has appropriate gear for that content. My buddies who I now play with, really do not. I've been helping some on...

Finally Birthing the TTT and Blogs

Posted 04/03/08 at 3:53 AM by Boethius
I am pleased to use my inaugural blog post to announce and dissect two new forums features that have been in the pipeline for quite some time: the Theorycrafting Think Tank and individual blogs.

Theorycrafting Think Tank

There has been an Illuminati working tirelessly (well working with severe bouts of laziness in between) on a new section of our website called the Theorycrafting Think Tank (TTT). The TTT is a protected wiki wherein only article's authors are allowed...

What make Starcraft a Sucessful E-Sport?

Introduction
This is a rewrite of a post I made on teamliquid.net. At the time it was part of a discussion about Multiple Building Select, a feature of SC2’s UI which a great number of the current player base are against. One of the major complaints about MBS is that it makes the game easier, and therefore lowers the skill ceiling. Some people were trying to construct the argument that a less competitive game would be a less successful e-sport. Now this is something I contend strongly,...

Where there is a Will, There is a way... to Cheat

A very pvp active ret paladin in KF (also a friend of mine) is often running his mouth about how terrible my pvp gear is and how he could easily beat me in a duel. First, my pvp gear is terrible and I am equally bad at the high end nuances of player on player fights, wheather in duel or arena/bg situations. But, being the person I am, some months ago I challenged him to a fight. A duel to end all duels, if you will. Winner takes all (some large amount of gold). Him in full S3 gear vs me in 1 piece...

Sunwell Plateau - Ideologically?

Posted 03/27/08 at 7:10 PM by Kytrarewn
To save you a trip to Wowjutsu or Armory, I'm in a guild that's on a small server. 4/5;4/9, and has been there for more than a month.

We hear about Sunwell from guilds that had been farming illidan for 7-8 months now, and even those with retarded numbers of warglaives and DPS are ostensibly having trouble with the enrage timers on certain encounters (Blood Legion).

At this point, even if we were to defeat Illidan and Archimonde tonight, I'd be hard-pressed to say that...
