Random question: There's a site that lets you design your own WoW items and does the math for you as you type in the stats for what ilvl it would be. Can someone link that site?

And no, you didn't read what I was asking for. This is just a site to make hilarious tooltips of fake items. I want a site (and I know I've seen/used a specific one, but it was a while ago) that will do item calculations for me. So I can say Epic chestpiece, +30sta, +34int, +80 healing, +10mp5, and it'll spit back what ilvl that item would be. Just looking to get some illustrative numbers together without having to wear out my calculator.

That is indeed the site Gurg would want, except they haven't updated to include socket values for 2.0.

It also doesn't include the new combat ratings and it's giving a div/0 error when you put basically anything in the script.

Sockets are also in-flux (previously used a scaling cost, now being changed to a set cost).

Also, it doesn't appear to use the new TBC weighting for Stamina.

And on top of that it can't sacrifice dps on weapons.

Gurg, you scared the hell out of me when you split the thread. Thought I posted in the wrong one :P

Although some of the Tier 5 items actually line up with expected ilvl values if you use the old formula, like the Destroyer Handguards. That may also suggest that they haven't reduced the value on block value, which seems like it should be the case since mobs are hitting for large amounts to compensate for the much larger HP pools.

Not that it's on-topic or anything, but interesting stuff!

Funny you mention that. Some of the epics I've looked at don't seem to do so either.

Take a look at this for example:

http://www.thottbot.com/?i=54649

That only has the budget of an ilvl 105 item if you count stamina as costing the same as other stats.

Also, for a real laugh, compare that item to this: http://www.thottbot.com/?i=59732

Nor can it add extra armor as a stat.

Leave it to the EJ boards to point out all the flaws in someone's calculator in under 15 minutes.

Alcaras's calculator hasn't been updated in 10 months, so yeah. :P

Anything else out there?

I maintain that I am only laughing right now because it is absurd, NOT because it is humorous.

Alternatively... if I look at the Destroyer Gauntlets (DPS set), I get an ilvl of 103.2. Then, if I multiply the stamina value by 1.5 to get 37.5, I end up with an ilvl of 119.9.

Compared to the Destroyer Handguards, where I get an ilvl of 120.4 with the calculator, or 146 if I adjust the stamina value to its new expected value.

EDIT: In other words, some values appear to use the old stamina formula, and others may have even *increased* the stamina cost by 50% instead of reducing it.

This isn't what you're looking for, but didn't thottbot used to have a plugin where you could attach -hyz or somesuch to the end of the item name, such that it would calculate the actual iBudget for the item and compare it to what it should be?

Was that removed? If so, why?
