Anachronos -- The benchmarking mob.

Simply what the title states. Thought I'd pass this tidbit of information along. He has almost 2 million HP, has the boss designation, and has no abilities to interfere with DPS benchmarking. So if there's any curiosity about damage between classes, specializations within classes, etc. It's easiest to test on him. Just an fyi and all that :o

(ps: no you don't lose rep, even if you make him despawn. it is afterall not his time)
(pss: he hits pathetically weak, so you only need a tank and 2 healers who cycle ooc to keep the benchmark going)

Did anyone ever come up with a solid case for what aspects of boss level mobs scale and what aspects do not? Seems far from ideal if he is considered level 63 in some aspects and 73 in others.

For any ranged class Dr. Boom is a really good mob as well. He is stationary and as long as you can outrange his little bombs you can go all out on him to test sustained dps on him. I tested out the new clearcasting changes to the elemental tree on him and am quite pleased. He also has enough hitpoints that I was able to unload full mana bars, drop combat, and come back.

While Dr. Doom is a great dps test for a ranged class (he has so much HP that you would have a very tough time killing him without the bombs, plus he respawns fast if you somehow did), he is not a boss type mob.

Anachronos is a good suggestion, since he is easy to get to and most likely not contested.
