Summary of gems
I couldn't find a summary of available gems anywhere else which was to my liking so I wrote this spreadsheet. Others may find it useful.
Firefox
http://suburbia.com.au/~jon/gems.xhtml
Internet Explorer
http://suburbia.com.au/~jon/gems.html
Sorted by colour.
Within colour left to right direct upgrades.
Top to bottom within each colour I've roughly split them into four groups: healing, caster dps, tank, melee dps.

I used to refer to this one, as I liked how it's seperated by categories... but it has no heroic epic gems listed. I'll just throw it on here in case anyone finds it useful.

Alternatively, this one was posted on our guild website a few months ago and has proved most invaluable to us all.
Good job on yours though. Personally, all I'd like to see is a little note next to any that aren't bought from some sort of vendor. I've lost count how many tiring conversations I've had with people not using !gem to find out if they have a certain design only to discover it's a 1% world drop.

Great list, but I noticed one error, Mystical Skyfire Diamond is now 5% on spell cast for the next spell to be have a 5% half cast time.

Very useful compilations, thanks.
I really wish they would add a separate tab for Gems to the AH. Unless I'm missing something painfully obvious, it sucks to have to sort through 1000+ items on there, probably 75-80% of which are not gems, when browsing for socket upgrades (and that's if I limit my query to Rare quality).

As far as I can see Stormy Azure Moonstone is the only green quality gem design which is a static world drop. All the other green gems are trained or vendor rep rewards. All the blue quality gems are world drops.
Mystical Skyfire Diamond fixed, I grabbed the data from Wowhead and it still has the incorrect information.

To be fair to the auctioneer team, when the expansion hit the mod did not work, but around late Jan a stable gamma was released (the mod is now in beta).
The gem section also filters gem-like items (like shadowgems) so you still get bad hits, but it better than nothing.
Don't forget the vendor Halaa +8 str gem (it is unique).

In the hopes I'm not missing something by hoping this is a helpful link:
http://www.wowhead.com/?items&filter=cr=81;crs=5;crv=0
Gem color and preferred stats are available filters one can add to that.

Oh, I didn't mean to imply that the shortcoming was on Auctioneer's part. I had a metric shitton of mods that were broken by the expansion; the shortcoming was my own for not searching out a stable update since then.
There's still no excuse for Blizzard not having that functionality built into the AH yet, though. In sockets, they introduced a pervasive new mechanic to equipment but didn't support it with a simple tool to help people locate gems. In my opinion, this has badly hampered the economy for jewelcrafters (on my server, at least). The couple guys in my guild who leveled up jewelcrafting essentially must resort to exhorting the masses in /Trade to whisper their !gem queries to drum up any significant business.
The AH in general could be heaps more powerful and effective with only a minimal increase in sophistication.

I personally use Trade Goods->Gems when I'm browsing for tasty morsels to socket, but this does included raw and cut gems.
Then again, I can't be sure if this is from the default UI or added in Auctioneer's UI.

That's from Auctioneer, AFAIK. There are no sub-tabs beneath Trade Goods in the default UI.

I made a gems spreadsheet a few weeks ago, for use with Excel. The upside is that you can filter it on exactly what stats you want to look for, and it has pictures and links to thott. If you want to see only gems that have stamina and +spell damage, you can filter on just those gems, for example. The downside is that it was based on Thott data from a couple weeks ago and there may be more gems out there now. Also, you need Excel to use it properly. If you don't want to use the auto-filtering properties, you're probably better off with one of the previously linked spreadsheets.

Maybe I'm not getting it, but why aren't people just using wowhead.com? Click on Browse -> Items -> Gems
It'll list all gems in the game, I think, and then click "Create filter" on the upper right corner of the list. Over on the left, above "Add another filter", select the 6-7th one down which is Gem Color. Then just select the stats you are looking for, or just don't bother with gem color and go for the stats right away?
I find that easier than anything else and if you want a particular set of listings at your fingertips you can bookmark the searches to go there directly.
http://www.wowhead.com/?items=-2&fil...rs=2,3;crv=4,0
All yellow gems with 4 spell damage or more for example ... I can't help but feel I misunderstood something here though

Very nice feature, I had no clue you could add custom filters to wowheads search function like that. I think those WoWhead folks have done a great job when all everyone knew a few months back was Allakhazam and Thott. Quite a tough nut to crack.
The jesta site I do not like, just no way to search for gem stats that I could see. Wowhead has some great options and should be complete, only problem is that its a bit slower to search than if you just use one of the google spreadsheets.
