Picked this up tonight from Leotheras the Blind in SSC. After about an hour of running ProcWatch while spamming an SS(to 5cp)>SnD>SS(to 5cp)>Evis cycle on mobs in the Blasted Lands, I failed to get a proc more than once every 45 seconds. The average time between procs was around 52 seconds =(.

Just an FYI for anyone who might be working on Leo or considering picking this up, its a nice item at first glance, but, it falls victim to the same hidden cooldown that Hourglass of the Unraveller does. I'm hoping they buff it because, currently, my 2piece T3 invigorate bonus very easily out heals it.

It has been speculated that many proc items have cooldowns that are about 2-3x the proc duration. There is no way to really tell an exact number without doing enormous data sampling but people certainly aren't getting back to back procs with many items.

P.S. Hey Tidise, I think we were guild mates once back in <DB> in SWG. It's been a long time but I remember the name and know a few people from the server joined Ret when WoW came out.

What's the proc chance?

How badly does this ultimately make it compare to activated trinkets such as Bladefists or the Core?

It's annoyingly typical that two quest rewards may end up better than a boss drop (that seems initially better on the surface).

A heal that small that's on a 45 second 'cooldown' is practically worthless. Bloodlust Brooch, Hourglass, and Dragonspine Trophy are clearly better choices even when farming.

It's probably using the same code as Mark of Conquest. I know I want one of those for a farming set - with proper gear(e.g. 2pc Bonescythe, Mark of Conquest, and Darkmoon Fair card) it's possible to create a fully self-healing set(much harder now that Crusader is worthless, but still possible). If you don't have that it doesn't add much, but once you crack the "never has to stop" mark it makes for a great increase in gold/hour.

It's totally our fault.

The scene: Blizzard HQ

Producer: OK, so we're going to take another try at the ol' "give the customers what they want" gag, but we're only going to pay attention to the players on the EJ forums this time. We learned our lesson from that fiasco with official druid forums.

Dungeon Designer: What do they want from dungeons?

CM 1: Hard. Really hard. Nothing is too hard. Hard 5-mans, hard raids. They just want hard. Possibly overcompensating for something.

Dungeon Designer: Got it.

Item Designer: So, CMs, what are the peons saying they want from items?

CM 2: They want to get PvP gear that's good for PvP, and PvE gear that enhances their PvE progression.

CM 1: Heheh. "Enhancing".

Item Designer: Well, great. What's that mean? How do we enhance their PvE progression?

CM1: According to all these long threads I'm seeing, they all agree the key to progressing is farming lots of gold and lots of herbs. Lots of farming.

Item Designer: You know, I've got some nifty ideas for items that would help out with that.

Producer: Great! Let's do lunch. Oh, and food guy, make a phallic icon for something, they'll love that stuff!

FIN.

It's allmost as if there's the vague, vague remains of a very thin red line that someone once had in their heads when designing TBC.

Add lots and lots of asscleaves and melee unfriendly stuff. Then add items that can mitigate this trough self-healing.

Somewhere along the way the stamina budget changed, encounters where retuned to take that into consideration, you started to get ~200 hp per level from 60-70 instead of a few points of stamina and in the end; everyone ran around with 8000 hp. If people had 5500 or whatever hp, this heal would be quite a decent, at least percent wise, hp boost / regen.

This hidden cooldown on proc items should probably, at least in some cases, be highly reviewed as a T5 class item having it's stat budget eaten by a fairly useless proc is just sad.

What he said. It's why I still use Nexus Horn even though they threw in a longer cooldown on it.

sorry to say, but hourglass of the unraveller, abacus of violent odds, dragonspine trophy ... all superior than those 37 crit.

its a flat 10dps decrease to my current gear when unbuffed.
not even talking about endgame gear....

hit and haste just scale so much better then crit and ap

edit: this is from a combat sword point of view.

Unless all you care about is PvP you sure shouldn't be going "its 37 crit who cares" since 37 crit by itself isn't very good. I know 37 crit is more valuable for rogues than druids (for druids that 37 crit is worth ~52 AP) but I seriously doubt its worth more for rogues than the bloodlust brooch which avg's out to 115 AP.

If this trinket only had a 10-15 second cooldown well then maybe we would be talking as if its good.

well compare tsunami talisman to hourglass of the unravellar... 32crit + ap proc vs 37 crit + a heal proc... what would you consider more valueable.
