SSC Trash Hotfix + PTRs soon

Because 2.1.0 is not yet on the PTR's (we're hoping by tomorrow or early next week), we're going to hotfix the base creature respawn in Serpentshrine and TK Raid to be 2 hours. We're also going to fix the bug that's causing the creatures to respawn after the boss for the corresponding section has been killed.

These aren't all of the changes that we have for 2.1.0, just two of the ones that we will be able to hotfix. There are more changes coming in 2.1.0 that include creature tuning, better loot etc...

Some examples:

Lots of the creatures have fewer hitpoints
Lots of the creatures are no longer immune to CC (The female naga in SSC can be poly'd, Skeletal Ushers in KZ can be shackled)
Lots of bug fixes
Our cries have been answered! Many tears of joy are being shed today and will be shed in the coming weeks.

-Trash before Hydross and around Lurker (Blizzard calls them the six pumping stations) have had respawn timer increased from 45 minutes to 2 hours
-Trash no longer respawns if the boss nearby has been killed
-Coilfang Priesttesses may now be polymorphed.


More confirmations for those patch notes.

I'm gunna go ahead and say those patch notes are either some sort of transcribed (maybe from another language) or are just very very rough draft. Further I'm going to say I really hope there is priest changes beyond those listed because what's listed there is not going to fix any of the problems with the holy and disc trees. Time will tell.

Probably be better if it was on a 2 hour cooldown and didn't spawn while engaged on Magtheridon. I'm just saying...

They don't spawn while you're in combat with him.

These are the shitheaped notes that Praetorian was initially thinking were real? I agree with Praetorian on that too, they looked very legitimate. In fact when it came to the Vahsj changes and overall changes to raiding, I explained things to our raiders as if those notes were 100% accurate.

Its nice they're hotfixing this. Lurker has so many bugs it is almost comical... I can name about 5 bugs on lurker, a couple of which are encounter-breaking.
Wonder how Leo will fair.

What about Magtheridon trash? Well you see they already hotfixed it last week, they just didn't say anything. The mobs will no longer spawn and add while you are in combat, we had a slow time getting magtheridon down last night, after a 10 min fight and wipe all 4 trash camps spawned at once

They have spawned on us while in combat in phase 1. Just like mobs in SSC have several times. Maybe not in Phase 2 though, or maybe not since he was nerfed. I'm not sure.

Well good job Tigole, thats something.

I still dont understand why the rush to get BT out and on the live servers when the preceding 25 man Coilfang and TK instances have barely been touched let alone tuned but props for listening and doing what you can to respond to the whining.

Anyway, back on topic, this HOTFIX only includes upping respawn times to 2 hours in SSC, and linking trash to particular bosses.

This should be read as: scalding water strategy is significantly more viable for lurker, hydross attempts between bog lords are much more spaced, and killing tidewalker et al allows for more efficient progression past him.

The other changes are listed for 2.1 still (the mob HP and tuning), so if you are like me, you might have missed that point. (Or am I reading this wrong?)

I would always set the trash respawn timer, and several times when we were learning Magtheridon we'd engage just before the respawns would start. We never got any adds, and when we wiped, the trash was back. Pretty sure they changed that when they nerfed him.

Are the mobs that are linked to bosses that we've already killed going to magically disappear once this hotfix is live? Our whole instance is dead except lurker which we'll kill for the 4th time this week. I'm guessing they will still be there though. It's only 2 of those big naga packs to vashj anyway iirc so i guess it doesn't really matter.

I just feel bad for the people that have leo or fathom lord to do tonight and have to clear all of morogrim's trash

Mag trash was hotfixed last week's Tuesday.

It didn't respawn on us during our Mag kill this Monday and we had started 1min before respawns.

Can we un-shit heap those notes and start talking about them now that two very specific changes have been confirmed? I sincerely doubt anybody guessed at the Darkmoon card names and got them right AND guessed at specific changes in SSC.

Good thing Blizzard finally got their heads on their shoulders.

In related news, my guild, along with a lot of others I know of are thinking about waiting untill 2.10 to even step foot into SSC. Is this the sentiments of anyone else out there?

While we have the people attuned to do it but is it really worth the headaches with the uber-trash that's in there now?

Probably better to wait for the full list of changes or see the difference of a partial alchemy list creates quite an amusing long thread of vitriol. Then Tigole lets on a little more and now we have the full profession change list and everyone is much happier.

With the trash respawn hotfix, you may as well get started on SSC now. It's probably best to wait until the patch for Tempest Keep though, since it sounds like Void Reaver is the only viable boss in the zone right now.

To be honest the trash before Hydross isn't that bad. Once you come up with the right strategy for it you should never really have anyone dying and it only takes about 25 minutes to clear. The most annoying thing about Hydross learning is setting a timer to wait for the 45 minute bog lord, but hardly a massive deal.

Beyond that, I'd strongly recommend not continuing.

Yep.

We've been told PTR tomorrow or Monday. We'll have real (and, it seems, fucking massive) patch notes to discuss soon. Patience, people.

One point on Jager's post. Just clear the first trash pack, then suicide-run to the "wheelchair ramp" (we call it as such because we launch people from there to water walk to the rest of the zone as most people were too incompetent to land on the water elsewhere without falling in with water walking up. Water walking is serious business.)

Anyway, then just naked-suicide run to the safe spot while a couple warriors drag trash away, and you've just done the Hydross clear in 5 minutes flat.
With the new tidewalker changes you can do the same to get into his room once he's dead for instance.
