On the 2 servers I generally play on, Primal Earth is in far greater supply than Life on the AH. I'd put the median price of Earth about 7g, but Primal Life at about 15-20g.

A lot of the price has to do with Primal Life's far wider use in healing enchants and crafting recipes, of course.

I have looted alot of fel lotus in netherdust pollen nodes on the netherwing ledge, while none outside of it.

Last night we had a dude herbalize one of the collossus in SSC and he got 2 as well as some Felweed and Motes of Life. Anyone else find themselves yelling at others to loot the mob so the herbalists in the raid can spam shift-click to get the goods?

In MC, "loot the Core Hound" was like a guild motto - our guild skinner even had a /yell macro after every one we killed. Then we wisened up with FFA loot, because we were just being retards.

I have to admit, I haven't felt an increase in Fel Lotus drops which is really annoying as they're becoming a massive cock block for me now that Flasks are less significant.

The different methods to get Black Lotus seem a bit sketchy too. When they said they could now be skinned off mobs in outland, I was expecting all the giants in Zangarmarsh to be putting out. Looking at Wowhead though, they only come from the new elites in Skettis and Colossi in Serpentshrine. Very dissapointing.

I've gotten at least 2 off the bog lords in Zangar, common they are not though.

I've seen a big increase in Fel Blossom harvests since the patch but no noticable change in the number of Lotii. Makes me wonder if someone jiggled the wrong DB entry.

I've found 5 or 6 just doing the Netherwing quests on the island. That was only over two days, it certainly felt like an increased drop rate seeing as how I only collected 17 or these past 5 months (I do pick just about every herb I see, too).

Could just be luck right now, I'm sure it will even out.

I got two Black Lotus in my first four mobs in the dead mire in Zangarmarsh the night after the patch. A few nights later I spent 2 hours there killing for Sporeggar rep and didn't get a single one.

Learned Flask of Fortification last night on my one and only combine (Elixir of Mastery). I had already learned Flask of Shadow Fortification after about 90 Super Mana Potions.

Discovered Shadow Fortification while making Relentless Assault last night. Whoopee.

Also Fel Lotus has increased in price between 5- and 7-fold. If the drop rate did increase its effects have been far outstripped by increased demand.

I can confirm that Fel Lotus drops more often, I add only 2 drops so far (but I was away for one month on holidays), and I've got 4 drops since the patch.

Black Lotus can be "skinned" off Bog Lords and Fungal Giants corpses in south-west Zangar, I was grinding there yesterday (good spot to get herbs off mobs + motes of life if you are an herbalist) and I "skinned" 2 Black Lotus. According to my rep increase with Sporeggar I killed about 100 of them so it's definitely not a common drop, but it's better than nothing and somewhat farmable.

In other news I discovered the Flask of Shadow Fortification while creating a Potion of Volatile Healing on Wednesday night.

Even if they did indeed up the Fel Lotus drop rate, I think we can all agree that the situation now is actually worse than it was before - the ratios feel way off.

Before, for every one Fel Lotus brought into the world, there were ten people that wanted a flask.

Now, for every two Fel Lotus brought into the world, there are forty people that want a flask.

Those numbers were pulled out my ass and I'm sure it's different from server to server but I'd be surprised if this isn't how it also feels for others.

With regards to Black Lotus, I went and zerged The Dead Mire before our Tempest Keep raid for thirty minutes and got a single one after fifteen. I suggested to one of my Mage friends that she dual box our other Herbelist friend or myself while killing them so she did. I don't know exactly how many she killed or how much rep she accumulated but nine Primal Life and ten Living Essence later, she hadn't gotten a single one.

The Black Lotus situation is pretty horrible now and I really hope they review it further. We're now prioritizing Mark of Illidari's to those eligible to turn them in for Supreme Power's based solely on that reason.

There are two forces at work pushing lotus (both types) prices up and one pushing them down. The "down" force comes from the increased drop rates/availability, and seems to be somewhat small. The first "up" force is demand, because raid content is now more accessible and flasks are overall more affordable (and also perceived to be required on some level) there are more people wanting more flasks than there were pre-patch. The second "up" force comes from the altered ratio of inputs in flask production. Previously it took Terocone, Mana Thistle, and Fel Lotus in the ratio 20 : 10 : 1 to make a FoRA, and now the ratio is 7 : 3 : 1, or 21 : 9 : 3. So the relative consumption rate of lotus is higher than previously.

On my server lotus prices have not yet stabilized. The current prices of 8g for Fel and 12g for Black may persist but I expect they will fluctuate wildly. Immediate post-patch prices were around 21g and 25g respectively. Pre-patch prices were more like 3-6g and 15g respectively so it's not clear which of the upward or downward price pressures are dominating.

It probably would have been smarter to keep the materials the same and have the combine produce 3 units, similar to how the Major [Element] Protection Potions work now. Perhaps they didn't do it that way because they couldn't make it work with Elixir Mastery.

I have 30 fel lotus sitting in my bank now, with the introduction of cheap gruuls lair flasks I just can't get rid of them fast enough. I seem to get 5-6 every just from doing the daily netherwing herbing quest.

quick request: could people note their procs and pm me a list of what pots they made, along with the number of procs (and if possible, the number of pots per proc)?

Just interested in seeing proc chances, and I always seem to get 2-fors now, rather than 2-5

A "me too" post. On Tichondrius, Black Lotuses cost 23-27 gold while Fel Lotuses go for 5-7 gold. Going from pre-patch to post-patch, the price of a Flask of Supreme Power has gone from 60 gold on the AH down to 50 gold. For comparisons, the Outlands flasks cost 25-30 gold.

Discoveries are going well, I got Flask of Mighty Restoration on Tuesday and Super Rejuv Potion yesterday (was doing Elixir of Healing Power). On the other end the last extra procs I got were beginning of last week (before most recent patch) and they x2 each (twice in a row). Nothing since then, but I'm a transmute master so it's not too surprising maybe.

And the Fel Lotus drop rate is definitely much better. Got 12 waiting in the bank right now.

Talking of Discoveries again.

I hadn't made anything since 2.1, then I made about 60 Maj Agility for a guildie and then a bunch of Super Manas, and got 2 Flasks. Maj Restoration and the Arcane Resistance one. Awesome.

I've made over 300 pots since 2.1, mainly agility, fortitude, healing power, and draenic wisdom and I have yet to make a single discovery While I think the discovery system is pretty neat in a way it is immensly frustrating.

If you made the mistake to pick the wrong alchemy specialization, you only need to pay 150g to the quest NPC and you don't need to do the quest to convert to other specialization.

I am not sure if this has been the case before 2.1 though.
