Does this mean that if you have not choosen an alchemy spec yet you could choose the least material intensive one and then immediately change to transmute for 150 gold? Sounds like a great way to save 5 primal mights.

For me, I'm not a herbalist anymore, Transmute mastery is more than great for me, I make most of my money from enchanting now, and of course from tips for crafting flasks and Cauldrons. Being transmute master makes me get 20gold every day with chance of getting that multiplied. (Sporeggar revered recipe, earth(worths 5-10g) --> water(worths 25-30g)) Or as it happened for me 2 days ago, Transmute primal might and it procced x3

Transmute mastery is still good in my opinion, specially for people who are not herbalists.

I assume then, that yes, you would have the right cost-saving idea in going Potion/Elixir and then switching.

If you're too lazy to farm (like me), transmute spec is nice.

You earn 16g a day for logging in and clicking a button to do earth->water. A really lucky guildy of mine learned shadow->water on a 3x might transmute proc, which would have an even higher profit margin.

While already mentioned, I'll echo the sentiment regarding Black Lotus & Flasks of Supreme Power for casters.

I'd love to see a 10 min CD transmute of Fel Lotus -> Black Lotus (similar to Hearth of Fire -> Elemental Fire xmute), assuming they aren't adding an alternative caster DPS flask to the game. The mobs that drop Black Lotus currently are incredibly limited and Black Lotus prices on my server have been going up (I expect they'll keep increasing as well).

Maybe Black Lotus -> Fel Lotus? Maybe requiring you to be present in some god forsaken section of the Outlands to work, as some of the Cloth 'transmutes' require?

I'd also love to see the oft lamented Essence of ____ to Mote of _____, say on a 10 or 20 minute cooldown? Or perhaps 2 to 5 Essence of ____ to Primal _____ on the standard 1 day cooldown?

I can not say that is the case for respecing into transmutation mastery (because I haven't done it myself). But that is the case for changing from potion mastery to elixir mastery.

Does anyone know of a cooldown on discoveries? I suppose a more fruitful question might be, are there any anecdotes of back-to-back discoveries?

Yes Ive seen many screenshots of back-to-back discoveries. There is definately no cooldown.
