Alright, Yor was a woman. Stunnable, fearable banishable, he was lvl 70 Elite, hit for maybe 200 or so while I was in bear form, pretty much a joke, especially for where he is in that particular instance.

Anyways, he dropped a Badge of Justice, 2 Spirit Shards, and:

Also, killed Shaffar right after, and, uhh, he hits alot harder. His spells were doing about 25% more damage than usual, but at least the spawns were alot slower on spawning. I think we saw maybe 7 total spawn when we killed him. Interesting to note, Shaffar dropped the Ace of Storms, so I'll be doing my best to put the deck together.

I would think that, due to the Badges of Justice, it would be obvious that these were killed on Heroic mode :P

More Ethereum/Ogri'la/BEM stuff! There is a quest chained, started by talking to an ogre in Lower City, that eventually leads you to BEM, and starts you off killing all of Gruul's sons. Upon completing this series, you're sent to "Ogre Heaven" (Ogri'la), and you get a grand total of 3 quests to do. These quests use the Simon game that is just south of Forge Camp :Wrath, not the ones that have a dozen or so mobs spawned on them at all times however.

After a handful of 'run here do this'-quests, you get a series of summon-based quests. They require 35 of the Apexis Shards that drop from all the critters in Blade's Edge Plateaus, and they're all lvl 72 Elites. Quest suggestion is 5 people, though with a strong tank, and a competent healer, they're kind of a joke.

They didn't drop anything interesting, aside from quest drops, and the occasional Apexis Crystal, which is an uncommon quality item, used to purchase the Ogri'la reputation items. However, one mob dropped an interesting item.

I'm sure you've all seen, or been dismounted by the named dragons flying overhead. One of the quests sends you to kill any of the 4, and retrieve a claw or some nonsense. Upon looting the mob, you also are greeted by a Rare quality scale from said dragon, with a Use: effect of "Combine with the other 3 dragon's scales, and get a cloak, go." After killing them and combining their scales, we got:

Also got an 'of the elder' version of it, the stats of which I can't remember.

Now I'm stuck, since the Ogri'la quests are all tagged as Daily, and I've received no new quests. I'm assuming there are more, based on the Netherwing and Skettis quest progression, and that the new quests are tied to Ogri'la reputation.

I'll post more information as I get it!

Were you in heroic instance when you did this quest or just regular one?

Thanks.

Is it just me, or does that chestpiece from Yor not have an armor class? Or does he have a mod that turns that off?

Given that I see a big red "Mail" on it, I think it's just you.

The Deathwing Cloak has an interesting 'follow-up'.

One of the NPCs at the Skywing landing pad near Ogri'la, the head officer it would appear, has an option once you receive the cape, that is basically you complaining that your cloak sucks. He offers his apologies, and offers to exchange your hard-earned cloak for an Apexis Crystal (The green quality item used to purchase Ogri'la rep rewards).

Some more info about the flasks you get with the Crystal Shards. The actual flask buff doesn't disappear if you enter another area, you can even run around Azeroth with the flask buff on you. You only get the actual stat bonuses when inside Gruul's Lair or the Blade's Edge Plateaus, the latter of which just seems to consist of the flying only area's in Blade's Edge.

I have however been unable to find any other flask then the previously mentioned Of the Sorcerer one. My suspicion is that you should be able to get all the flasks from that one altar, and it's just bugged and only displays the sorcerer flask. Anyone found a place to get the others or can we just chalk it up as being bugged and in need of fixing?

You can get the beast ones from the forge camps on the same plateau as Ogri'la.

It's not bugged

There is an NPC at the Shattar'i Skyguard outpost, an Apprentice of some kind, and he tells you an 'away party' of some kind will be leaving on a mission in X amount of time, and you should go help them.

When they head out, a team of 4-5 NPCs fly away towards Bash'ir landing, and once they arrive at the Bash'ir cauldron thingie (where you get the sorcerer flask), a dozen or so small lvl 70ish Flesh Beasts will spawn. You must help the NPCs kill the Flesh Beasts, while defending the one NPC that is 'working' on the cauldron. These small flesh beasts will continuously respawn, and will charge towards the NPCs of their own accord.

Eventually, after 5 minutes or so, a very large Flesh Beast will spawn. While it's labelled non-elite, it is extremely strong, has a butt-load of HP, and has a Gaping Maw attack that will pretty much kill anyone without a healer. Meanwhile, the smaller beasts will still spawn and attack. After you kill this larger Flesh Beast, the Technician NPC working on the flask receptacle, will ask for additional help, at which point, the apprentice NPC from the Skyguard Outpost will show up and help her. Eventually, he will have a vendor mouse-over, and will sell you 4 flasks; of the soldier, of the elder, of the physician, and a 4th one I forget, champion or beast. These flasks are not limited quantity, cost I believe 1g40s, and while he sells them, a never-ending wave of Elite ghost-like ethereals will spawn, in addition to the small flesh beasts.

It's a pain, in short. The flasks are not BoP however, and the Elite mobs don't have much HP, but eventually, you'll have to leave, and they'll kill all the Skyguard NPCs, and the 'event' will end.

Hope that helps

I apologize for the double posting of this item, from the Bear tank thread, but I think it's relevant, as a few sites have this thread noted as a source for these drops.

=

One thing to note, it dropped from the demons at Forge Camp:Wrath, while I was completing a quest there. I'm fairly confident in saying these Depleted items are a 'world drop' from all mobs in the Blade's Edge Plateau area. That includes the Ogri'la and the surrounding Forge Camps, in addition to Bash'ir landing.

I'm also working on a quest that I received at Honored, that I have been unable to complete for a variety of reasons, but hopefully I can finish it within the coming days. It requires a random drop from a Daily quest, so, here's hoping I luck out with the drop, and the quest.

Wow, I'm happy we're finally getting some good trinkets for bearform so I can stop pitying myself for choosing the wrong quest reward in WoW 1.0 and feel a bit better for not getting a smoking heart of the mountain :-)

Is there any way to force the away party to fly out, or is it just a random timered thing?

And wow, BoE flasks for Gruul that cost under 2 gold? That seems a bit... too easy? It also is making me wonder about Magtheridon and Karazhan, with those being the only raid instances that don't have a side-option for flasks.

What is the timer for these Flasks?

And must you complete the event each time you wish to buy Flasks?

The npc announces the time until the next Skyguard group goes to investigate. Seems to be not to precise, stated in hours. Not sure if it narrows down as it gets closer to launch, but knowing Blizz I doubt it. And yes you'd have to repeat it from what I can tell, apart from for the sorcerer and beast flask. All in all it seems to much effort if you've already got Gruul on farm, might be a nice investment if you're learning the encounter though.

This is really a pretty cool event addition, I wish there'd be more random stuff going on in the world like this.

Also, I don't think it's completely off-base to think that the flasks being BoE is an oversight that will be corrected.

Yay! More Ogri'la updated information!

Upon attaining Honored reputation with Ogri'la, a new quest opens up with the floating ogre named Kronk. He asks you to take a special Banishing Crystal either of the demon forges in BEP, and kill 15 demons within the range of the portal, which happens to be 30 yds.

After completing this relatively simple task, you are rewarded with 3 items, one of which is only guaranteed the first time you complete the quest.

The important item managed to escape my screenshot in that pic, but those are the 2 items you always receive from completing this quest, which is a Daily quest.

However, the important item, is called a Darkrune. You turn this Darkrune into the NPC directly adjacent to Kronk, who transforms it into a Crystalforged Demon Rune, and instructs you to use it at Shartuul's Transport, which is the device directly south of the northern-most demon forge. This is not a quest, I might add. His flavor text indicates something along the lines of taking control of the Felguard that patrols that area, breaking the transport, and killing demons until the terrorguard in the transport comes out, at which point, you will posess the terrorguard, and the cycle begins anew.

Upon using the Crystalforged Rune, I took control of the felguard, the controls are similar to mind controlling Razorgore, and he had a variety of 'yellow' attacks, to include a charge, a mortal strike, fear, and a whirlwind-type attack. He also has a hammer toss ability, that auto-targets the device, and a shield % appears at the top of your screen upon attacking it. He also has a special ability, which I think is currently bugged, that consumes a Charged Crystal Focus. These are items that are created from a Depleted Crystal Focus, plus 10 Apexis Shards, and I strongly suggest anyone trying this event go with no less than 10 of these focii. At any rate, there were 8 or so waves of fel hounds and imps, fairly easy to dispatch with a bit of timing, and once the shield is brought down to 0%, the terrorguard comes out, and you fight him. Fearing him works wonders, then utilizing the charge, he's fairly simple to 'defeat'.

After he's taken down, your possession jumps from the felguard, to the terrorguard, and this is where the event may be a bit untuned. This is extremely difficult. This part of the event works just like the felguard part, except you aren't dealing with a shield anymore, and you have a new set of abilities. His abilities include: Axe Toss (stuns the target, deals alot of damage), Debilitating Strike (75% melee reduction on the target), Fel Flame ability (frontal cone fire damage, leaves a DoT), a 'jump stun' of some kind (ranged target ability, terrorguard jumps forward, stunning currently melee targets, then lands, stunning target of the ability, and nearby mobs as well), Absorb Gan'arg (Deals massive amounts of damage to one particular type of mob in the terrorguard's sequence, returning the damage done as HP to the terrorguard, 20 sec CD), and his special. I'll find the name for the special tomorrow, but it consumes a Charge Crystal Focus, and the terrorguard takes flight, and begins to completely annihilate the ground below him. He does 2-3 fly-bys of the area, pretty much killing every mob on the ground, and reflecting all ranged attacks against him. It is on a 5 minute cooldown.

Completing the terrorguard part has taken me 2 weeks. Yes, 2 weeks. The one way to heal is simply not enough for the final 4 waves, as you're faced against 10 mobs at a time, and the one AoE ability, the fel flame, simply does not do significant damage. Also, the Gan'arg mobs, when they hit low HP, run to a corner of the area, and construct a fel cannon, which does a huge amount of damage, and must be destroyed immediately. It's doable, but it's very, very difficult.

After the final wave, a new mob appears in the middle of the transported, a Shivan Assassin.

I don't have alot of experience with her abilities, as I've only completed the terrorguard sequence once now, but she appears to have 3 sets of abilities, relating to Shadow, Fire, and Ice, and selecting an "Aspect of X", places you within the appropriate school of spells.

Upon taking control of her, a new sequence starts. No mobs, just a big portal, and then this fella appears:

He is not targettable, but introduces himself as Shartuul, in person, and then summons a ' . . . special pet that has been reserved for such an occasion'

It destroyed me. Bad. That is as far as I've gotten thusfar, and it's enough information that I've decided to post about it now.

A few notes:

1) The Demonrune is an item that is a random drop within the grab bag that Kronk gives you. Other possible items are 10x Apexis Shards, Depleted Crystal Focus, and Charged Crystal Focus. I tend to get one every 3rd or 4th day, so, about a 25% drop chance on the rune. Remember, the quest to get the bag is a Daily quest (lame)

2) The demons HP and DPS is HUGE. If you're flying by, and see someone doing the event, I wouldn't try to assist them. They will easily one-shot anyone.

3) This is not a quest. Due to the fact that this is not a quest, I have no clue what the end-result of this event is. Nor have I observed any clues as to whether there is an end reward of some kind.

4) The terrorguard part is way too hard. It starts very simple, but his damage and HP is relatively low, and he has no 'clear-out' ability, similar to the felguard's howl of terror.

If anyone else has tried this event, and has gotten any further progress on it, please, let me know! It's driving me crazy

EDIT: These spells are all related to this event in some way. The only mob I don't think I've seen is a Wrath Hound, as there are a few spells involving one.

In order to do the whole ethereum prison line, are there any quest lines that should be or are reccomended completed before hand to make grinding those million keys easier?

I would strongly suggest already being Revered or higher reputation with The Consortium.

I believe anything past the very first "grind out a key quest" requires revered. Though you could just use that quest to get honored -> revered I suppose.

Drop rate of the keys seems to be better since the last patch, got 5 of them in ~50 minutes. Though considering the small sample I might have been extraordinarily lucky.

Ah, could someone perhaps confirm this? I did the first "get a key" quest, and.... there was no followup, just a repeatable "grind more keys" quest. But I'm only Honored, is there supposed to be a follow-up normally at Revered?
