Use WinMPQ to open the .mpq files from the /WoWTest/ folder in your World of Warcraft folder and you will find all the .wav's in them. There are only two or three useful MPQ's or just mpq's at all so you will be able to find them easier.

Tiny info on Veras Darkshadow

Taken from the blog of the guy who did the voice for him :
http://blog.myspace.com/pajeau3

The second game I did this month is World of Warcraft: the Burning Crusades. It is an expansion to the original game. For anyone who plays WoW, my character name is Veras Darkshadow. He is a Blood Elf Councilmember in a high level dungeon which will be added in an upcoming patch. I don't play, so please let me know if you come across my voice. =)

Also, from imbd http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0940530/

So it seems Veras Darkshadow is a Blood Elf Councilmember

In the test MPQs, there is a new branch labled Expansion02. Inside are some art assets labled as Howling Fjord. I'm pretty sure this is the area where Arthas landed on Northrend, and thus leads me to believe that the next expansion is part of or all of Northrend.

Here's a picture of northrend.

Howling Fjord is on there.

Also, from the sound files it seems like Kael'Thas is an enormously long fight, he's got introductions for his high councillors and they have their own sound files too, so you'll have to fight a bunch of different guys.

Hyjal has some voice files for Jaina and Tyrande where they're fighting along side you. The arcatraz bosses have some REALLY well done voicing too, for those who care about that.

Opinion is a medium between knowledge and ignorance.

And there I thought they added those new files for a new Caverns of Time instance. Perhaps I was wrong.

They are all members of the Burning Legion that were part of War3 and present at the Battle of Mt Hyjal so most people should be recall previous knowledge from there :P. Kaz Rogal is however an odd one im unable to recall from lore, nor does it sound like an agent of the Infinate Flight.

Well, since he has a debuff that drains your mana and causes you to explode if you hit 0 mana, I'm guessing he'll be a big doomguard.

For Kael'thas, the soundfiles give away a bit of the fight.

He summons the 4 guys one by one and you gotta kill those I imagine
Then something with fighting his weapons from his Armory?
Then he mentions it wouldn't be fair to fight them all at the same time (the lieutenants) so I guess that is clear, all 4 of them at the same time

And prolly him after that.

Sounds.... very difficult.

You forgot to mention that he plays with gravity, mind controls people and summons a phoenix.

Kaz Rogal
Azgalor

Anyone familiar with anagrams?

It might be his human form or something, just like dragons take human form sometimes with a different but similar name.

RE: Northrend

There are also a couple other references to Northrend that I saw when poking around in ModelViewer, so it's not just that Expansion02 folder.

According to my logic

-Get quest from Akama in 2.1 after finshing Akama questline currently ingame to find Olum in Serpentshrine, likely being held by Vashj, Kill Vashj.
-Kill Al'ar in TK for second part of questline, and possibly final quest, but also could be:
-It's a well known fact that Nozdurmu (Bronze dragon Aspect), possesses many powerful relics, and he possibly has the Medallion of Karabor, which was talked about in the Akama questline, which could be used to attune to Black Temple, and could be the next part of this questline, which perhaps he grants you if you help save Hyjal?
-Kill Illidan and get epics.

There are 3, maybe 4 named heroes you need to fight in Warcraft doing the battle of Mt. Hyjal. I'm pretty sure Rage Winterchill is one of them so the others are probably the other heroes.

It's hard to say. Pit Lords aren't known for having any different forms. His son perhaps?

Kaz'Rogal could very well be Kazzak(Kazzak's new voice files include one that says "I remember well the taste of defeat at the end of the 3rd war.") before he was granted more power by Kil'Jaeden.

From what I've figured from Warcraft 3 and looking at the sound files.

Anetheron is a standard Dread Lord who was second in command to Tichondrius. When Tichondrius was killed, he and Rage Winterchill were promoted to joint command of the Scourge. He'll be packing Carrion Swarm (AE damage in a line), Sleep and Infernal. In War3, his other ability was Anti-Magic Shell similar to what the Banshees had, but I have no idea whether he'll have that in WoW.

Rage Winterchill the Blood Lich (called that cause he had red bones) was the other commander of the Scourge. Sound files have shown that he has Frost Nova (probably the original target able Lich Frost Nova, as opposed to a PBAE) and Death and Decay. In Warcraft 3 he also had Dark Ritual (not like most bosses run out of mana, but hey they might do it for fun) and Finger of Death.

Azgalor looks like a typical Pit Lord, his sound files do have Doom (heavy damage DoT with silence component, if killed while Doomed spawn a Doom Guard) in them, though. Also expect Cleave for sure.

Archimonde looks like he'll be doing some burning (according to sound files), which I assume would either be Rain of Fire or some other thing I haven't thought of. He also has some sort of knockback attack and mind control ability. In War3, he also had the ability to cause a rain of Infernals and a Dark Portal which summoned a crapload of demons. Oh, he could also Finger you in a weak spot for massive damage. Plus he had Bash.

I'm not really huge up on lore, but why are any of these demons working for... Illidan... the demon slayer?? Isn't there supposed to be all sorts of lore on how demons make up the burning legion, who under Sargeras want to set the universe aflame? Did a bunch of them suddenly get side goals of setting up planets to rule or something? Again, not really familiar with all the warcraft lore so I assume Sargeras is out of the picture for the time being, is that the root of the uncertainty in the "demon faction"?

I'm just a little confused as to how demons work/operate, in WoW 1.0 it was pretty vanilla - all demons want to destroy every single world they come across. Suddenly in TBC they all have different goals and ideas. Not even sure why the expansion is calling the Burning Crusade, if demons are playing such a small portion in the expansion (everything seems to constantly lead to Illidan).

I'm fairly sure these were the gatekeepers to the final hall of Black Temple in the last Illidan mission of WC3:The Frozen Throne.

Could the Howling Fjord models be for the CoT instance with the crashed boat? During the tour with the supervisors when you first hit up CoT on a character, they say something along the lines of they are not sure what this time portal brings...and it's a boat, which could possibly mean traveling across the northern sea of Azeroth to Northrend?

certainly, but why would it be listed under 'expansion02'?
