It would definetly be nice to play these "old" instances again. Maybe even with a new story like "Oh dude, these Burning Blade fanatics came back and want to get my arse HALP!"

Could be an alternative to Blizzards approach to make new content like new content = new area = everything new. But if they plan to make this they should definetly just make the heroics accessible for everyone I hate reputation farming :>

"CoT" mode for old instances would also be possible but a bit diffcult because most of the instances are areas that got captured by "the evil" and you'd have to help that forces to invade a zone (e.g. Scourge in Stratholme) or you would change the history if it's vice versa.

Maybe they even implement something to revive the old zones

This sums up <the> problem with Gnomeregan. I actually applaud Blizzard for what I think is "accidental" design - the Dark Irons on the platform below aggro too-low-level party members if they get too close to the edge, which is absolutely the penalty for being too low for the dungeon.

Take it how you will: Some think that those guys should be made lower level, a reduced aggro range, or path farther away. Others (and I'm most probably in this camp) think that they're just find and you shouldn't set foot in Gnomeregan at level 29 for exactly this reason.


I assume that IF they made a Heroic Gnomeregan, those guys would be level 70, therefore equal level to the player, and the issue would be circumvented thus.

No one has mentioned the possibility of making heroics at level+10 instead of level 70. It could be that most people here don't concern themselves too much with the leveling part of the game but plenty of people do. They'd probably have to put a level cap on the instance as well or else there would be a market for running people through heroics for the drops there.

But this kind of thing might be good. Introducing the population to heroic style gameplay early would make for better players at 70.

I don't think that's possible. During the levelling curve, you can *always* make an instance easier by simply coming back at a higher level. If you set heroics to level+10, then you'll simply get people running them as "normal" instances, just 10 levels later.

Sure, it would mean people have more different things to do while levelling - you'd have the choice of going to Heroic Deadmines instead of Normal Gnomeregan. But it wouldn't be the sort of "different" that encourages better gameplay.

The only way to provide a heroic-like gameplay experience would be to have a maximum level cap on the dungeon. So once you're past level 25 (or whatever), you can't enter Heroic Deadmines any more. That would be a monstrous waste of developer effort.

Sure, it would be nice to see some developer love and more content for the mid-levels (particularly levels 45-55 are painful in the extreme), but I don't think heroics are a suitable way forward for that.

And as you can see from my earlier post, I'm more excited by the possibilities for actual lore progression than by the simple "ZOMG make everything heroic please" idea.

I don't think anyone would complain about proper lore progression for these instances but in truth if Blizzard was to do anything to old world instances I think just a flat Heroic change would be all we could expect. I still think it would be a valid use of development time and would increase the value of Azeroth much more than it currently is.

In regards to those that made comments about lvl 70's camping lower level instances portals on a PvP server. How is this any different than what it is now? I can recall how many times I went to SM and did not see a level 60 player there with one hand, but asking me to do the same when I did see a max level player there is another story all together. The same argument could be made for Hellfire and Coilfang if you really think about it. No level 60-63 player is going to stand a chance against a level 70 player that has half a brain.
