Magtheridon in 2.1
 

Being in a guild that has struggled on Magtheridon (we've killed the first four adds, but by the time we get to the fifth he casts Blast Nova), I am interested in how Mag has been reworked for 2.1, in the case that any of you have killed him on the PTR. We run with three or four warlocks, so infernals aren't of significance; the problem is our DPS on the adds (our tanks and healers are consistently good, as are 6-7 DPSers; the rest just hold back the rest of the raid). So, noting our problems, I hope that Mag has been reworked to not focus so much on the skills of a guild's DPSers. Clicking the cubes won't be a problem, I am fairly sure. Have the channelers been reworked (i.e., less health)? Other details would be nice as well.

My understanding is that the channelers' health remains unchanged, but that their damage output has been reduced significantly. The retardedly high melee damage of the infernals has also been reduced.

There's another thread on the boards here("Latest PTR Patch" is the name of it, I believe) with some discussion on the 2.1 version of the fight.

Oh, and it would seem that the encounter is also currently bugged and that the cubes are not working on the PTR so I hope you have ample group healing available :O

To be honest, if you're not killing all 5 adds before the first blast wave, you have one of these issues that needs adjusted:

1. Kick heals.
2. Kick people not doing enough DPS.
3. Flask you DPS.
4. Keep people alive during phase 1.

my guild are usually about 50% on the fourth add while the first nova is casting, just dont let anyone whos tanking add or mag make the clicky
