Well, I must say that's a pretty amazing piece of work for a raid instance that a very small fraction of the playerbase is going to actually participate in. Hopefully it's motivational!
I like the video, and I really hope the rest of the dungeon lives up to what I'm expecting. So far just testing Najentus (or whatever) and Shade of Akama I'm liking this place a lot more than say SSC. Also, I'd say the fact they're going the Naxx route with a high lore involved dungeon, with a strong intro movie, they're really pushing to make this seem like the next Naxx to really get raiders happy, and god I hope they succeed.
I've always wished for a tool that would allow us to spawn characters and animate them with a free-flying camera to boot for machinema artists. Currently I have to create characters in front of a solid background in a model viewer, animate them there, and then import that footage over footage captured from a world map viewer and essentially hope that any moving objects/backgrounds line up. This method provides a great advantage with being able to separate foreground from background (apply depth of field and such), but at the same time it's damn hard with multiple moving charactes/objects and a moving background.
There is so much awesome potential for machinema in WoW if we could do it in the same fashion that Blizzard can.

Hopefully the other changes coming in 2.1 wil allow more guilds to experience BT than were able to experience naxx before it was cut-short by an expansion. The video got me really pumped for black temple, very well done and explained a lot of things about the history of BT.
Also, the official 2.1 wallpaper is pretty cool as well
Very nice video, explains the lore behind Black Temple (at least enough of it) and made you continue watching. Good turn-around from some of their past videos.
It's amazingly well done. The Kael/Vashj/Illidan scenes had me all giddy
Shame most of the playerbase will never see it.

Wow. Kael'thas really let himself go since leaving Azeroth.
On the topic of Kael'thas and that video, it got me wondering who'd voiced him in TFT (I'm a big VA nerd). Went googling, didn't find it, but did find a clip of him from TK in WoW, and, well. Judge for yourself.
I think the worrying thing is I found this on someones lj...they're seemingly writing an Illidan/Kael'thas fanfic. One of *those* fanfics o_0.

Nice loregasm in that video, and it's good to see the horrible voice-acting that has infected some of TBC isn't harming their video production.
I still get shivers when Prince notes that "WE FIGHT NOT MALCHEZAAR ALONE, BUT THE LEGIONS I COMMAND," it's probably my new favourite line in WoW, and Akama is clearly alive and well - so how did they screw up Kael and Illidan so bad?

I just had this vision of Prince, the musician, being thrown into that video. Now it all makes sense.
Oh wow Michael Bell played Medivh. I always thought Medivh sounded a lot like Raziel.
Raziel? he sounds like Liquid Snake. :p
And yeah, some of the voices dipped in quality a tad for WoW, Ragnaros is king still I THINK, though Aran/Prince Mal give him a huge run for his money.
In 2.1 alot of bosses get voice work, so that should be a good change for the game.
Archimonde's voice...just makes me wanna cut myself, truely the Legion knows no bounds to their evil, with the horrid voice acting that alone could cause wipes through disappointment and laughter.

Mr. Malchezaar should be doing Archimonde, and Mr. Shade should be doing Kael'Thas. Actually, those two actors should do all voices for Blizzard games, forever. Illidan had a very distinctive voice in Warcraft 3, and so it doesn't bother me that he still speaks that way. He doesn't sound like a "badass", but neither should he. The slightly depraved, whining voice that he has fits his character. He can sound cool when he's talking about being prepared, at least.

I would argue that, in context, a "slightly depraved, whining" voice of the lord of the blood elves should differ slightly from a "slightly depraved, whining" voice of a frustrated WoW raid leader. And the voice clip seemed to be more of the latter.

The depraved whining voice in question is Illidan's. Kael'thas was supposed to have a sort of arrogant majesty which is completely and utterly lost in that horrible nerd rendition we are stuck with. Is that seriously not a placeholder?
And thanks for bringing up Aran, another spectacular voice job. "Yes, yes, my son is quite powerful... but I have powers of my own!" Maiden of Virtue is one I quite like, too, maybe not so impressive but definitely spot-on.
I agree that it would be very cool if Blizzard released some of their machinima tools, but I'd imagine that there are no tools per se, rather specific applications of dev tools which they are obviously never going to leak. Did they actually use a different version of the Temple in this video for the flashback scenes? Or is that just some custom lighting making everything look more wholesome.
I'll have you know, that is Die Fledermaus who you are insulting.
You mean Leonardo.
I got so much shit for rolling a female blood elf, but I literally could not stand to play a male one when every single emote including the grunts in combat made me think either "SNAAAAAAAAAAAKE" or "Shredder got away again!".
Moroes is quite good as well "Now where was I?...Oh yes". Hell, all the voices in Karazhan are sweet. I can't wait to hear what Leo is going to sound like when they add voices to SSC next patch, he has some classic lines.
Wow. Kael'thas really let himself go since leaving Azeroth.
Yeah, what the hell is up with that? Since when did Kael'thas become such a fatty? He needs to lay off the raw warp energy if you ask me.
My only concern with voice-acting is when it kind of gets drilled into your brain from over-repetition. Malch's classic line, for example. I love the line, the voice, etc, but dear god I hear it seventy times per fight and my brain starts resenting me.
JUICE! Aww I'm sorry. Did... did anyone want some juice?
