Rogues had Feral druid, Hunter (unknown spec) and Fury warrior with them, but no shaman since we used our shamans to provide +crit/hit to a castergroup and NR-totems to two tank-groups.

Definite shift upwards for rogues, who gained quite a bit DPS compared to last week. Warlocks are still scary.

We are using single target strategy, with very little reasons to change, as the DPS requirements went down / our DPS increased so much that 9min 40sec kill fully potted pre patch changed to a relaxed 8min kill with half of the raid runnin with half lights.

I for example had tremendous dificulties using my stopcasting macros with no UI-mod that'd estimate the lag in my cast-bar, ended up canceling few fireballs and losing more time to lag than usual.

Did you do the AoE strat or the single-target strat for his adds?

Just looking at stats from Nightbane tonight, 2 rogues, 2 attempts, we had glancing blow rates of 17%, 21%, 21%, and 24%.

However, I also noticed that like the OP my overall white damage went down to 51% of the total, whereas usually it's in the upper 50's for me. This seems strange given the various changes:
1) Reduced glancing blows: white only
2) 2 free talent points because of imp sap, 1 into Ruthlessness and 1 into Lethality: yellow only
3) General gear buffs: white & yellow
4) Romulo's Poison Vial buff (+35 hit): white only

I would have thought the +35 hit and glancing blow reduction would have been more important than the two new talent points. Or could the fact that I traded out the Abacus for Romulo's Poison Vial be a big factor, since I'm not getting that white damage speed boost every couple of minutes?

By the way, the proc rate on Romulo's Vial was fairly bad: 21 procs on over 1,000 hits, so less than 2% proc rate, for a total of 5,513 damage out of 641,000 dealt.

One nice thing is that it actually does dmg to VR (Didn't bother checking for other poison immune mobs yet). I think it did like 5k out of 400k + tonight for me. Then again, you're not really using this trinket just for the poison proc, are you? :P

My overall white dmg has gone up significantly, but I made a huge jump in hit rating after 2.1 which probably explains why (from 200 hr to 300).

Tonight on Mag I botched up my cube duty and was 'forced' to stay on Mag the whole time. I don't have WWS for the kill but I topped the meters with ~10.5% of the damage dealt with another rogue (on cube duty) sitting at about ~9.3% right behind me.

Our rogues weren't even in the top 7 for our Hydross kill on Monday.

And a fun fact: Romulo's Poison Vial hurts Hydross in his frost phase.

Pre patch numbers were (IIRC): 40% glancing chance, 24% glancing penalty

The logs in the weapon skill thread in the class mechanics subforum place the glancing chance at ca 20% post patch and glancing penalty still ca 24%.

So neglecting crits and nonconnecting swings you are looking at

pre patch white damage: 0.6*1+0.4*0.76=0.904

post patch white damage: 0.8*1+0.2*0.76=0.952

White damage is decrease because of Sword specializations are changed from white to special damage. You will see that Sword spec will attribute as a different attack rather than just white dmg now.

I can surely say that melee dps was very increased, we did SSC yesterday and on most of the mobs, the 3 rogues including me were on top, even on Morogrim (which uses a lot of AOE), a rogue still came up on top ;p

Overall with tuned groups in raids Melee did fine pre 2.1. Obviously with the changes made post patch we are really starting to shine, though I still find it difficult to beat some of our skilled warlocks in terms of dmg and dps on certain boss encounters.

Our rogue DPS on Tidewalker:

May 8th: 928/907
May 15th: 895/898
May 23rd (Patch): 1180/981

Contrast to hunter DPS:
May 8th: 1011/864
May 15th: 938
May 23rd (Patch): 1040/966

Even from this small sample size, you can see a clear balancing. The hunter damage went up slightly with the new gear, while the rogue DPS increased by 10-20%.

Group makeup was fairly consistent for all 3 kills.

From my observations I can't confirm that the white damage % has decreased.
Being combat fists (with a dagger off hand) it was at about 60-63% on yesterday's raid.
This was with windfury totem.

For a combat swords rogue in the same group it was about 58%, with an additional ~6% by sword procs (showing seperatly).
