So we can all farm Thunderfury again? No thanks.

Time investment should play a bigger role than just pure luck.

What do other people mean when they say it?
I'm sure your definition is the original meaning but now people just use it in a broader sense as a synonym for item progression.

Some more PvP stats would be nice, so that PvP and PvE topend gear could be really really good, just that each would be for its specific area.

-"Control Rating" to make crowd controls last a shorter duration on you, capped at 50%
-"Control Resist" a type of resist that simply resists CC and control effects (silence etc)
-chance on hit/spellcast to dispel one debuff on self

Some PvE stats that aren't currently in the game as ratings
-Efficiency Rating to make abilities cost less, capped at 25 probably
-Critical bonus damage increase (ie not chance to crit more, crits hit X% harder)

General stats they could add
-AE resist

^_^ I might think of more later this is just a quick list.

I liked the "chance to avoid spell pushback" on the Battlecast items (although inherently I can't fathom what this actually means - it's certainly not clear). That kind of mechanic is especially valuable for casters.

Chance to resist stuns?
Reduced aggro radius?
Stealth detection?

There are so many interesting "stats" they could put on items that it's really mind-boggling. The "ignoring armor" affect on some T6 really got me thinking that they might be going in this direction. Here's hoping I'm not too optimistic.

The problem is, it isn't valued in PvE.

I might have a 50% chance to avoid silence, stun, interrupt or whatever but that doesn't change how I approach a PvE encounter really. When I am looking at 30 or 40 occurances of an effect, resisting a ton of them isn't enough. I need to be not silenced or need to plan around if I am silenced. It's the same thing with Mages and spell schools, sure I *can* use frost or arcane but if the encounter requires it, I'll either respec or I am a 50% damage class sucking up a slot.

Well is that really a problem? Sure it'd suck to excel at PvE and then find out you're gimp at PvP, but it'd be a nice way to keep PvEers from dominating PvP, and vice versa without unbalancing stats.

The thing is, I'd always take an item that was 40+damage ... versus 30+damage and 5% spell interrupt effect.

Even though the latter would be way, way, more expensive in terms of budget, unless I can hit a real amount of immunity, I don't care.
