It is built into the Java client as a tickbox option titled 'Updates history' under the logs and reports tab.

And here's our most recent post-2.1 Gruul kill: http://www.lossendil.com/wws/?report=xzqie5crxtggu - not a very typical raid setup though, since we only had 1 mage, no shadow priest, no elemental shaman.

I know in the case of Dragonrayne, he was playing on a much worse connection than usual. No idea about the usage of pets, I'll ask them about it sometime.

You may want to link other people's armory's. A priest in my guild for instance that does 800 dps every Gruul has over 1100 shadow damage (though I think he's using some weird pvp spec right now): http://armory.worldofwarcraft.com/#c...nger&n=Cinched Just seeing what other people can easily get by changing professions and picking different rewards can give a good idea of what you can do.
|
Feel free to delete this post if it's too far off-topic. In my experience, you need to remove the "#" character from the Armory URL for the link to work correctly. For me, this link gives nothing but the Armory search page:
http://armory.worldofwarcraft.com/#c...nger&n=Cinched
But this one actually works:
http://armory.worldofwarcraft.com/ch...nger&n=Cinched
I've had this problem with the vast majority of Armory links people give, with a wide variety of web browsers (Firefox, Safari etc). Does the first one work with IE perhaps?

Basically our DPS sucks for a lot of reasons and I don't know what they are. Two mages in the Hydross meter (Serv and Carea) were Frost for some reason that I can't fathom, but beyond this I'm explanationless. I can only come up with 4 reasons that DPS can suck:
a) People make horrible gear choices
b) People make horrible spec choices
c) People don't know what buttons to push when
d) People don't push said buttons fast enough
How does one fix this kind of guild-wide problem?
|
Your shadow priest is very disappointing. 5/5 improved mind blast is a big sign that says 'I dont understand spell rotations.' Also, ask him how many times he has been crited in a raid situation and has been alive long enough after to enjoy the martyrdom buff.

Yeah, but I'm pretty sure in the case of that Gruul kill, there were no pet actions recorded.

so yeah, basically I'd be looking at any suggestion about improving our general DPS... a bit of background on my guild :
-We have 20 people clearing Kara each week, + 10 that are up to Prince (their 3rd week in)...
-We've killed Gruul about 5 times and Maulgar about 7
-We usually have the same 20ish people in raid, (from the 2 Kara teams) + 5 random, usually from the last Kara
-Most of us PvP a lot/PvPed in the past so PvP spec might be present...
-Half of us are ex WL/HWL/Rank11+, we killed Nef and err.. Sartura pre-BC (I never did AQ cause I joined pretty late november... we stopped raiding to PvP when that PvP patch hit) so we don't have a lot of experience, but most of us are good players.
|
Two of your rogues are topping a lot of your charts, but their dps isn't very good and all 3 are pvp specced. 2 of them have 41 points in sub and the other has 41 in assassination and nothing in combat. Things like master of deception and dirty tricks certainly aren't helping their damage output.

Here's the WWS for my guild's first Leotheras kill tonight. It's from my combat log and looks to be pretty accurate. We went with the MT in FR gear taking both phases, and then having someone else pick up the human when they split. One caveat - I didn't assign the fire or earth elementals to anyone, because I couldn't figure out a fair way to do it. I know we had shamans using them to help kill inner demons though.

Prince is normally a fight where I get decently high DPS compared to most other fights(Aran, Maiden more, Gruul is about the same), Only when you get back to back enfeebles should you be forced out. Link: Here is a recent WWS that has both Maiden(900dps) and Prince(831 dps) if you want to compare mine to yours, but you can't really compare stats much considering our gear/talent differences.
Are you CloS'ing out of enfeeble mid-shadow nova cast? Don't worry about it resisting the nova and killing you, CloS removes enfeeble so you can't die. And when you don't get enfeebled do you swap around to where the tank is standing so you get knocked into the wall and don't lose DPS time?

Our first real good attempts at Gruul we had the DPS on the last attempt, but couldn't keep the tank up. I'd really appreciate any comments to help myself or any other people increase their dps.

I asked, they said they left them all in the corner so they wouldn't die to WW or Chaos Blast so they could keep getting the benefit from Focused Fire.

I had similar problems with my WWS. I try to have as close to 100% SnD uptime as possible, but for a Mag kill, it showed me only having applied it 12 times. It leads me to believe that if you refresh the buff on top of it self, it won't count it, because I was seeing similar things from flurry and battle shout.

This effect is trivial to see with unleashed rage. On this wws http://www.lossendil.com/wws/?report=sw54zrlv2dwbw&a=28 WWS Relwin gains unleashed rage 6 times despite criting for 111 times with just auto attack. On an additional note WTB that judgement of wisdom uptime >_< that shaman gained 10,138 mana just from judge widom.
I have the exact same problem and had to copy many links into firefox from safari to get them to work.
Getting back on topic, http://www.lossendil.com/wws/?report...rsqto&s=25,467 is what my scrub guild could achieve pre patch. Funnily enough my arena team casters Miyuki/Junius/Darkmantle all respeced and flasked for the kill. Silph got coa which really pushed his dps up into our range, its annoying in a way that just a choice of curse duty can so heavily dictate dps standings for warlocks.

Especially when he used the wrong curse eh? (CoD > CoA, if you don't believe me, take it to one of the numerous warlock-threads, they all touch the subject )
But personal dps doesn't really matter as much as raid dps, which is important to remember for anyone who specs/cast differently to up raid dps at expense of his own...

Can't be certain, but I'd guess Ryans is wasting CP's by cutting into his own Slice and Dices too much. I only see 9 total finishers from him. Pretty sure if you refresh a SnD before it fades you don't get the message so only 4 of them listed. Guessing he's refreshing it too early. He only did one Rupture, and four Envenoms. As long as there's a Feral Druid hitting Gruul Rupture is far better. He just needs to work on his attack cycle a bit for the fight is all. Maximize his CP's better.

As a rogue little things I like to do for Gruul add up. Try and time a 4-5pt Rupture for right as he tosses you. Usually can get it off mid-air. Keeps some dps going while you're not in there and usually come back in with the 1cp from Ruthless. For me that's enough to do a 1pt SnD and build back up to 5 before it fades usually. Dagger you might have to settle for a 3-4 point one after it, but don't obsess over only doing 5pt SnD's. And watch the Shatter timer assuming you have a mod that times it, he tosses you at like 10s to Shatter or so, don't waste a 5pt SnD if you're only going to be on him for 10-15 more seconds. Toss an evisc or something and then 1pt SnD.
Just minor stuff for that specific fight that will add up. I haven't done him since patch to see what my DPS is, but yours isn't that bad from what I've seen before. Your Shadow Priest needs to Mind Flay more I think, but better gear will get her up some.

What is the accuracy of wws parses when only one player is running /combatlog?
I am running LoggerHead with max distance settings on everything and there seems to still be discrepancies between the different damage meters people run. I generally rank accuracy as wws >= swstats > DamageMeters.
I post fight stats by manually cutting up the WoWCombatLog by boss kill (Ctrl-F "%bossName dies.", highlight up to the main tank popping Bloodrage) instead of using the wws hosting, since wws hosting has the disclaimer that it won't always be there, plus I don't need log splitting since I do it myself.
I don't really know how to verify the accuracy other than just educated guesses. Like looking at wws, High-Warlord Karathress' incoming damage was 1,823,569, which fits with the general assumption that he has 1.8 ~ 1.9 million hp.
Is it recommended that more than 1 person run a log or does 1 suffice for all intents and purposes?

Should add that he's usually frost aswell iirc, not sure in what way this would influence his gear choice+respec.
I also have the feeling that most of our ranged is rather low, though I fail to see why. Their gear/talents are pretty decent usually and we always have CoE up.
