My guild is early in Kara, and as the main tank I'd appreciate any feedback from people who've been doing the job longer than me, as I was a raiding Rogue in WoW-classic.

Here's our Maiden kill from last night, I'm Nocturnas. She seemed to be silencing me a lot so I couldn't Thunderclap very much, and in general it was a bit of an adrenaline rush so I was mashing buttons more than being calm and collected. Any hints appreciated.

TBH I think he's just or a bad mage or not trying at all. :p
I know our casters are willing to learn so any form of helpfull feedback is welcomed!

Damage Done:
At a glance I'd say that you probably aren't dumping your rage as fast as you are building it, try to heroic strike more often if you find yourself constantly near or at full rage. Second, only 2 devastates seems pretty low, make sure you use it whenever you aren't hitting Shield Slam or Revenge (or have to refresh TClap)

Damage Taken:
10 Crushing blows is pretty much a lot for that short of a fight, focus on mashing shield block better and you should see those go away. Given the length of the fight you could have hit it significantly more than 18 times.

I hope that helps, if you want to really identify your weaknesses you need to look over several logs and of course not just one, that way you can find where you are habitually lacking.

19% wipe on Leo

Pet died at ~40% ish to my own mistake as I was too greedy with dps so pet got whirlwind and died to rend.

Dont watch the dps, as I was still testing stuff and didnt bother with mana pots.

Fact is, my pet did 220 dps in that fight which is more than 2% passive buff on top of 600 or how ever much dps.

Then you add ferocious inspiration to the group which brings it above 300 ish dps.
Is there any reason (talents, skills etc) for Speedy to have such a low glancing blow rate? Especially when compared to the Rogues and Warriors in that log.

Also, your 'Miscellaneous gained' shows you consumed 3 mana pots from what I can see

Sounds like you fail at searching it's posted in tons of threads but I digress...

Add these to the config.wtf file in your account folder (inside your World of Warcraft folder...)

SET CombatLogRangeCreature "200"
SET CombatLogRangeFriendlyPlayers "200"
SET CombatLogRangeFriendlyPlayersPets "200"
SET CombatLogRangeHostilePlayers "200"
SET CombatLogRangeHostilePlayersPets "200"
SET CombatLogRangeParty "200"
SET CombatLogRangePartyPet "200"
SET CombatDeathLogRange "200"

If you have a crap computer like me you might want to see it to something like 80, 100 or 150 instead.

I was hesitant to do this, but my guildmates want some criticism and asked me to upload this.

So this is the guild's first kill of Magtheridon, from today. =)
http://www.warbound.us/WWS/wws-20070529-2059/index.html

Any critique of any aspect of the fight would be welcome. (And yah, we have some nubs in that log)

Cube clickers were Malen, Ologhai, Ahur, Bahramoo, Datsama, Vathir, Yahmann, Jasminxx, Twopointo, Meltface. The others with the debuff/dmg in the log replaced some guys who died early in the fight.

We had a bad start at first because the first Channeler got pulled in 3 directions by ranged, and so we took a lot longer to kill all 5, but everything went very smoothly despite that. One of the locks (Hplovecrft) DC'd briefly, and the locks looked like they were having their hands full with the infernals and had little time to DPS (except Vathir who's a champ).

Edit - I'm sure it'll come up, yes I am now using a green OH as of 2.1, you can read the "Windfury and You" or "Enhancement Itemization at 70" threads if you need to understand why.

Another Magtheridon log, largely unbuffed aside from a select few with oils/elixirs (Our top shadowpriest was flasked, though, and I think our hunter may have been also).

http://www.lossendil.com/wws/?report=km1vgbvlkczxi&m

I feel like my log is only about accurate within +/- 10% though, as our synched SWStats had our top shadowpriest above me by about 10k, and everyone else higher than in my /combatlog. Not quite sure why, though, as I do have the combatlog ranges set to 200. I probably just need to convince someone else to run one too, so I can merge my data with theirs.

Self-analysis:
I was lucky enough to get our only shaman (2x Bloodlust, yay, shame he forgot about WoA for about 2 minutes during the fight), and I also wasn't on CoE/CoS duty (guild isn't fond of CoR /shrug - although we usually run caster heavy, so maybe it isn't quite worth it anyway), but I was helping with the cube clicking. I was also doing CoT/Banish/Fear during Phase 1, but since we were running a little warlock heavy, I didn't need to do as much CC as usual. My DoT rotations weren't perfect, but overall, I was pretty satisfied with my performance (I was around 600 DPS on our first Magtheridon kill, but we had fewer warlocks, so I spent much more of my time on CC, I didn't have a shaman, my gear wasn't as good, doing CoS, etc).

My quick analysis of everyone:
Most of our caster DPS was quite low, probably since most of them are currently PvP specced (not quite sure on our top mage though, seems like he was spamming Scorch the whole time?). I was fairly impressed by our hunter (made the switch to BM recently - Osse may actually give him a thumbs-up!) and our cat druid (normally an OT). Several of our top DPSers were also on cube duty, hoping I can get our raid leaders to change that up some.

Any other pointers would be much appreciated (anything pointed towards me especially, always looking to improve myself beyond the obvious gearing/enchants/etc).

Fayrn - the disparity between some of your healers is astounding. Your paladin cranked out 240,000 healing, but you have a priest sitting around 38k. Over 1/3 of your healing came from 2 guys. Given that data, you're taking more healers than you need. You could probably drop 2 of the lowest.

I'll go ahead and post a Tidewalker from our kill tonight as well:

Warning, the first 15 or so seconds of the fight didn't get logged, but I think it's a long enough fight that the parse is still useful.

Karathress:

Fairly clean kills, with some elixir use throughout the raid. I haven't looked at these closely yet myself, but at a glance, the "what the hell, why does Khazal use Fiery Weapon and wear blues" contingent may have something more to chew on, and Osse might almost give Gonk a nod of approval for Karathress.

Btw, do you BM hunters use steady/auto macroed, or are you doing timings by hand using autoshot timers etc?

I'm looking for ways to bring our hunter dps up from the MC numbers where they've seem been stuck for few years already...

Sneaked last night log 1h ago in (complete) / seems that site is offline atm:

Magteridon & Morgrim(first kill)

Had SP at Magteridon and second BM hunter, couldn't use mana - really tried ^^. (clicking cube at the door with other hunter, so bit of running for us 2)

Morgrim, was in melee group due lack of Shamans! (3 rogues & dps war with no totems, noticed after kill i had BoW instead BoK and used 32dps ammo...)
But still breaking 1k dps, with no SP, Lotp, totems is kinda ... O.O really I'm amazed.

Consumables: Major Agi, Major Mageblood, Mana Oil, Agi or 8mana Food.

First Gruul kill after patch (4th or 5th overall):

http://www.lossendil.com/wws/?report...25&s=4943,5360

Tried BM out of curiosity for the first time and... I'm pleased =)
Not so pleased with some other Dps'ers and mainly wondering what they're doing =/ or if I'm just expecting too much. (this time we did the "5 secs to shatter everybody hides" tactic)

This is the report from a Morogrim kill on 5/29. It was our fourth kill.
http://www.lossendil.com/wws/?report=5s5hkewnzd5vs&m

I'd greatly appreciate if some expert mages (or experts on mages) could examine the data and comment on Roci (16th place in damage). While he is a little behind on gear and did not have a Shadow Priest or Shaman (unlike the other two mages), I still can't figure out why his output was so low. He's usually a great deal better, but on this encounter he's been consistenetly underperforming.

Any other feedback would also be appreciated.

Notes: Raid was generally fully buffed with food, oils/stones, and flasks/elixirs. Each Shadow Priests was in a caster groups with a Resto Shaman (you can track their groups by examining who they healed). The melee group consisted of both Rogues, the Feral Druid, and both non-Prot Warriors (Gilmore and Saucerhead).

Edit: Some of you may find our Hydross report interesting. Or perhaps it will provide some clues to our raiders' performances. It's also from 5/29. http://www.lossendil.com/wws/?report=zw1jtuf5jxlmc

I suppose BM makes a huge difference on Morogrim as I'm pulling 1200-1300 dps without shadowpriest so have to hold back with kill command. :|

Karathress though, pretty nice dps considering you only shot spitfire totem twice so no extra damage from multi-shot. :P

I still recommend wind serpent for survival. :|

Dps'ing with impunity helps in an aggro sensitive fight I guess.

Thats without trinket of red pet button as well. :o
