Want to see if I get rid of 2 set red dragonstalker which I've picked up from SSC. :|
289 arcanist items were getting a bit old as well.

Since there is no other 2.1.2 thread lets talk about the trinket change
|
PvP Trinkets: Insignia of the Alliance, Insignia of the Horde, Medallion of the Alliance, and Medallion of the Horde have all been redesigned. The trinkets for all classes now have the same effect: Dispels all movement impairing effects and all effects which cause loss of control of your character.
|
This has some very interesting effects like mages trinketing out of blind ^_^ Or Rogues triketing out of death coil >_<
However depending on the implementation of it this will have some interesting pve implications. Things like the old phase 3 vashj every dps class could use their pvp trinket to get out of MC. Or people being able to trinket out of the water tombs on Hydross.

Echoing the above post in that there is not a separate thread for this, I am fulled patch for test server, but its still the RAS server.
However, some times already show their price changes. The epic PVP capes are 9400 some honor versus 11100 on Live.
The trinkets already show the tooltip text quoted above.

Would Death Coil really fall under the PvP trinket change? I can understand fear, the usual works, but DC always fell outside the normal CC rules.

I'd be a little hesitant to believe that the new PVP trinket does exactly what the wording implies - given Blizzard's track record it's entirely possible what it actually does is just all the old PVP trinkets combined into one and just got some sloppy phrasing as a description.
Edit: Uziel - any signs of the new PVP items/arena gear by any chance or just the price reductions so far?

Let's just call this the official 2.1.2 changes thread, shall we?
Red and Yellow PvP gems now cost 6885 honor points. Orange PvP Gems now cost 8500 honor points.

There are no new unique item textures in the patch files, but there is a lot of recolored Tier 5. It's safe to assume that the Tier 5 equivalent arcanist/lawbringer/dragonstalker drops now use a recolored version of the Tier 5 art for their respective armor type.

In terms of the Arena sets this just cropped up on Alakhazam:
http://wow.allakhazam.com/db/item.ht...US;source=live
Take with a grain of salt of course but it does seem pretty reasonable and gives us a ilevel of 136 for the new arena sets if true.

I am praying that this change means an end to the reign of terrible Lawbringer ripoff skins. Hopefully also a chance for warriors who don't do 25-mans to have decent tanking shoulders that don't look like Wrath, as well (though 2.1 added some nice ones in Heroic Sethekk).

Now something that counters cyclone I think. But I'm sure this change to insignia will be abused in PvE somehow (something that comes to my mind: Mag's stun at 30%).
Also, I'm still disappointed they ignored looking into priest 31 and 41 points talents, however, I feel severe talent changes in the next big patch.

There are two sets of textures. Surely one of them is the arena set and the other is for non-set SSC/TK drops. Either it's that, or they've just used a more varied assortment of recolored Tier 1 and 2 graphics for Tier 5 equivalent raid drops.

I really, really dislike with my deep heart Blizzard to use a unique graphic design for multiple item sets. And also toying it by blowing the "true colors" and look.

They said something about using the same skin as T5 or T6 gear for arena stuff, lemme see if I can dig up the post.
EDIT:
Yeah, that's the intent. The arena sets are intended to match the tier sets they are comparable to in appearance, that's always been the plan and as far as I'm aware is the plan for all future arena sets.
You should be able to look at a player and say "oh that's season x gear, it's the best" or "it's last season and matches tier y" etc. Even if you don't know arena items it's easy to see an arena set and immediately know how good it is as compared to the equivalent tier set.

Speaking of models, I used to like how in pre-TBC you could tell if that warrior that just dismounted to gank you is fury or arms from his gear (helmet of endless rage VS Lionheart helm). Now all different specced classes look the same, which is very lame.

Often different classes look the same, which is just tacky in my opinion. They have used, reused and overly overused the same t1 and t2 models in the game. They could atleast use some more varied textures, use some non-tier set models, or use t3 somewhere. It is not difficult to make and texture models of WoW's quality. I wonder what the WoW graphics guys are doing to keep their jobs.

On the bright side, off-set gear from Hyjal has unique graphics. They're improving!

I would really love if they used some of the T3 models for off-teir gear. Seems like they're some of the best models in the game and they're extremely underused (I'm jealous that I can't wear Cryptstalker).

Based on the textures these are cross sections of the T5 chest pieces (the Rogue one is relatively obvious) and as such I am really dreading having to wear Warrior Destroyer T5 gear recolored GREEN.
Most likely the green T5 is for the current SSC/TK items (Krakken-Heart breastplate, etc). It's green lawbringer at the moment so it makes sense. The darker one is probably arena gear.

Has the shaman non-set resto raiding gear art been updated? Almost every single piece has dragonstalker art, i'm about to throw my pc in the river if it didn't receive an art update. :X

My warlock would kill for wearing a T3 ripoff.
Hopefully they'll upgrade more art. Some days before a guildie got Terokk's Might to drop and it looked like a lvl 5 cloak...
